Bobby Brown exercises player option

Post#1 » by big3_8_19_21 » Wed Jul 1, 2009 3:58 am

Yet another point guard.

So far we will have Flynn, Telfair and Brown with a big question mark in Rubio...it's looking pretty tough for Ben Woodside to even have a shot at making the roster. He would have to thoroughly outplay Brown in Summer League.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

no surpise. either take his money or work at wendys. I really expect a move to be made to move Telfair/Flynn though.

i think Brown gets cut. Woodside isn't about a PG spot, he would make the roster because he can hit from outside... something none of the above nor anyone else on the roster are really known for.

I agree. Brown is cut, and plays at the fringes of the NBA with his $700K in his pocket. After a few years, he uses what's left of that money and opens an Arby's franchise in Santa Fe.

I disagree, he was secretly acceptable defensively at SG last season and can get his shot on offense, so if he can start knocking it down (he has the ability) and since the only other SG is Ellington, Brown is cheap, and this season doesn't matter, he can stay on in our weird PG eccentric experiment for a year.

Now if the Wolves want to eat his salary and bring in somebody else, more power to them, but they don't seem like the kind of franchise that'll go to all costs to put the best squad possible top to bottom on the floor, no offense, there's few that are.

I was just gonna say, what do we do with Bassy if Rubio comes over. Unlike Brown, Telfair is going to expect playing time.

Just gonna cut him? Hop to it. I don't want Bassy anywhere near Rubio or Flynn. Imagine how he would play if he only got 10 minutes or so a game. He would go from pounding the ball for 18 seconds to a full 24.

Left out a word there. I seem to constantly do that. Is 30 too young for alzheimers?

I think most people are closer to 60 when they get it. Don't quote me on that though, I am far from a doctor.

For some reason I really want to see Brown get some minutes. When I heard on the radio that he picked up his PO I shouted "hell yeah", but then remembered that he might be the 4th string pg..

I can just see Bassy thinking he is some sort of seasoned vet PG in the NBA and that he should take Rubio and Flynn as his apprentices. He will teach them how NOT to shoot, how to be short, how to not play defense, and that the best offense is dribbling the ball for the first 23 seconds of the shot clock and then make a pass or just keep the ball and jack up crap. I really don't want Telfair around our new PGs...cut him, cut BB Brown, but only after we know for sure that the Rickster will be here next year.

Or, goes back overseas for another cool half mil. Either way.
