Nets Can Offer TWO Max Deals in 2010

Post#1 » by G_MoNeY » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:01 pm

In a conference call with season ticket holders, Nets president Rod Thorn hinted that the Nets could offer two max deals in the summer of 2010.

Thorn suggested that the team could offer two max deals in 2010 "if we so choose."

He also left open the possibility of restocking the team's roster this year by trading some of New Jersey's seven expiring contracts, and bypassing their 2010 plans, if they can land the right player.

Thoughts? Lebron and Bosh possibly?

We have the money and the best players to surround them with.If LBJ and Bosh really want to play together and win championships this is the place to be.We wouldn't have a problem selling tickets if this happened either.

Its fun to dream isn't it.

With a potential top five pick after this season I say Nets should try to sign 1 max player (Lebron) and get a really great bench.

PG Devin Harris
SG T-Will, Lee or CDR
SF Lebron
PF Ed Davis or Derrick Favors
C- Brook Lopez

Don't need 2 max guys not enough shots to keep everyone happy.

Hey! Where's Greg Monroe? :D

I hate to be cautiously pessimistic, but no Brooklyn, and I don't think we get any of these guys.
Then again, if we wound up in the Rock, you're looking at a really nice, brand new arena, that would be sold out every game, likely without Lebron, Wade or Bosh.
I here all the talk that Brookyn is the better market then Newark, and I am not denying that is true, but the actual media market is exactly the same. It's the Tristate and it's North Jersey, we get the same channels, syndiaction and local commercials as any part of New York.
The only real difference is what it means to the actual city of Brooklyn and some of the luxury suites and season tickets being sold to local corporations.

Ed Davis is not worth the hype. Trust me I've seen him enough up close to know I don't like this kid. I have no clue why UNC fans and the media are all on his sack.

Regradless, I'm HIGHLY intrigued where we go next year in the draft. I really don't know. We have Devin in control of the point, apparently management views Lee at the 2, Terrence/CDR at the 3, Yi at the 4, Lopez at the 5. In a deep draft and with the 2010 FA, I haven't a clue. Personally I think we make Yi the first guy off the bench and go with a stud PF in the draft or FA, but that's just me.

Over the next 12 months I'm gonna be over analyzing every damn think Thorn and Kiki say.

In the postition we're in we go absolute BPA, no cliche about it at all, no matter what.
BPA no matter if he's a point guard, center, power forward, space alien, small forward, you get the point.

Get two studs FA and then draft the best pass first PG in next year draft. This will be the coldest winter though i give us 10 to 15 wins.
The "Turnpike" deserve a NBA championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was talking to my roommate last night. I actually Love our roster right now. We basically have Devin and Brook and 13 bench players. I have high hopes for Lee, Twill, CDR and Yi breaking away from that label, but that's my thought right now. Yes, saying "bench players" would make someone wonder why I love our roster, but I think we're deep in every position and that is why I like the roster. Granted, that depth is mediocre, but deep nonetheless. If we opened the offense and went run-and-gun, we have a lot of guys on this roster that could play well in that system. With that said, we'd still only win 15-25 games at best, but we'd be fun to watch while we're losing.

I haven't won with the Nets in NBA2k9 since VC got traded WTF.I'm starting to think we're gonna suck this season.I still think the Nets are better than a lot of teams in the East. But with Frankie running the show we don't have a chance.

I traded VC a long time ago.

I sent him to LAC for Camby and Gordon.

Though I am totally over the 2010 sweepstakes, I still dont think any BIG FA will sign with us unless Brooklyn is in the picture. One thing Thorn has put the Nets in an excellent position.

He has now put the pressure on the FA. Why do I say this?

If you are a FA that wants to Win, This team is going to be good with one or two MISSING STARS. It wont show in the Wins.

For FAs that want to get paid and Win, we are going to have the best young lineup with the cap space. Thorn is a genius. One combo we are definitely SET UP for two FA.

PG - Harris
SG - Lee/TWill/CDR
SF - Lebron
PF - Bosh
C - Lopez

Knicks dont have that talent. As much as the Cavs are good, West and Mo Williams are not enough to win after 2010. The only way the Cavs have a chance is to clear up cap space for 3 BIG FA and have Lebron convince Bosh, Boozer and/or Wade to come to CLE.
