Did anyone read this article about Marbury urging stars not to go to New York because of how they treat their players? Rubio just needs to realize how fortunate he is to be able to come play for a Minnesota Nice organization that won't treat him like a puppet but as a star. Thanks Marbury, as much of an idiot as you are, hopefully Rubio reads that and starts to think maybe this medium sized market-city that really wants me there isn't so bad. :D

No. He either is hurt all the time or becomes a great player. I know it.

I wasn't being literal. I was suggesting that knicks fans who have been all over trading for him will pull a 180 after he signs with us and start raving about how he's a bust.

Not that I dislike Marbury's sentiment or anything... but I really hope Rubio is smart enough to pay absolutely no attention to everything he says.

It's not like he would have anything better to say about Minnesota.

I thought I read somewhere that he regretted not sticking around... could be wrong.

Why wouldn't he? If I recall, he publicly stated that he regretted demanding a trade not too long after that fiasco went down. It's not like he wasn't being treated like a top 2 player on the team.

Apparently Skiles was pushing for the Bucks to draft Jennings. Jennings also has referred to Skiles as his n***a, which is kinda surreal.

The funny thig is is that Jennings doesn't have as many red flags as Skiles when Skiles was drafted (Skiles was serving time in prison when he learned he'd been drafted, for dealing I think).

It does seem like a really odd match on the surface.

Ricky just needs to bite the bullet and start his NBA career. Enough with this nonsense.

Sent some mafia guys to his current GM or wait until his case is resolved in court. That is in October.

I have a question for those who have seen a lot of Rubio's games. What is his game like in the last 2:00 minutes. Is he the guy that is going to get you 2 points either by a pass or shot when the game is on the line. Or is he going to be more like a KG that will make the right plays and make everyone else around him better but needs a Sam/Latrell or Allen/Pierce to take it to a championship level performance?

In Spain he was the kind of guy who would force a foul attacking his match-up, in order to go to the free throw line.

By the way, the word in Spain is that Rubio might give up to his lawsuit against Joventut so he can play next season there (the team president had stated that Rubio wouldn't be allowed to play in the team unless he dropped the lawsuit).

I think they're just playing "chicken" here, trying to leverage Joventut into a smaller buyout.

Super ... then he delays the big money in the NBA as he develops in Spain for free. I'm not seeing this as his real choice and more media manufacturing more crud for the rumor-mill. It's looking more like he will be a Wolf soon.

I think they're just playing "chicken" here, trying to leverage Joventut into a smaller buyout.

Yeah, but then he'll only have one year left and greater leverage to negotiate a reduced buyout.

Steve Rubio, father of The Blond Ricky, took over the mics to speak of his son’s uncertain future. The father of the boy prodigy of Spanish basketball wanted to clear of the air of some of the controversy surrounding his son and DKV. “(I think it’s an expression like) He’s in a bit of a pickle. We’re not sure how DKV will react to the situation. But all workers have rights, and Ricky has the right to know if his contract is legit or not. This is all he requests.” His father is referring to their request that the club reduces exit clause of 6 million Euros.

“We’re trying to figure out the situation, but Ricky is nervous. This is his one and only request to his club, but it’s an extreme one, and the situation has come to a head,” said Steve, referring to their legal discussions with DKV.

Ricky has made it clear he wants to negotiate with the club, it remains to be seen if the club is willing to negotiate with Ricky. He was much more coy when asked about Real Madrid’s interest in having him. “Things are coming at us from many different directions, we’re having conversations with many different people, and we’re not going to disregard anything right now.”

Steve was delighted with his son becoming the 5th overall pick by the Wolves. “Being the fifth pick by MN was the best thing that could have happened for Ricky. But, it could two years before he plays in the NBA. If he wants to leave before then we would have to speak with banks to pay his clause, and he would then be playing for two years essentially for free.”

“As it stands, with the clause in his contract it is not really viable that he goes to the NBA,” he concluded.

If I were Ricky, i'd rather being going to a Euro team also if they were willing to pay most of the buyout for me rather than going to the NBA and basically, like his father said, playing two years for free.

I don't blame him if he decides to sign with another team, I don't mind waiting for him, that's what we have Flex Master Flynn for.
