Was thinking they'd put him @ sf..

Ray for Prince and RIP makes sense for both teams. It allows DET to be a major player in free agency again next season and we get quality players in return...

Even so, I still feel there is no way Detroit does this if they turned down our offer that included Rondo for Stuck. Unless Detroit is seriously that high on Stuckey.

Tayshaun backing up Paul and Rip does sound nice though. Just not likely whatsoever.

Gboard is also speculating a Boozer for Rip Hamilton deal. Det could be scary next year.

That would leave the Pistons with no 3 at all. Ray is far too small to play the 3

No way on earth Rip stays... unless the Pistons think Gordon is cool with being a 6th man... which they would be totaly wrong on. Yes, Gordon was a sixth man during his rookie year. He is also a MUCH improved player since then and is still getting better.

It may be wise to turn Rip into some younger, taller front court depth in the starting lineup though. Maxiell, Villanueva, and McDeyes aren't going to cut it.

Did you forget about Thornton? He'd averaged thirty-plus minutes for them this season.

well, bulls get worse = helps us
cavs dont get cv = helsp us
pistons already blew up team that can give us fits = helps us

i think bulls will still make playoffs, but with kg, wallace and others im' sure, they wont go 7 with us, not even 5 maybe.

If the Pistons turned Rip into Boozer and have a solid defending center (some may feel that is Kwame), they may not be half bad.

Kwame / Maxiell
Boozer / Charlie V
Prince / Charlie V
Gordon / Afflalo
Stuck / Bynum

They'd be getting a lot younger and still pretty good IMO.

Boy, this is not what they had in mind when they were clearing that cap room. They're going to be awful.

Worst thing for them was Boozer staying. They should save the cap space for next year.

Daye would most likely be the back up small forward...

Gordon to the point? Or off the bench?

Or perhaps Dumars wants to recreate the Isiah-Dumars backcourt, which was essentially 2 players with PG and shooting skills dividing time as the PGwith Gordon-Stuckey.

Can't see how Rip is on this team.Tough call on a Boston trade for Ray Allen. I would probably stay with ray.

Thinking about Rip as a great 6th man here, wonder if Detroit would have any interest in a S&T with Big Baby and expirings attached? Or Perk and get something else back..

Detriot is done. Those signings don't make any sense. They look awfully weaker.

You can sort of justify the Gordon signing, he's young and a different sort of scorer than Hamilton, who becomes expendable just before he might break down (sort of like the original Stackhouse-Hamilton trade)- but Villanueva? He scored some points on a bad team in a contract year, still not much of a defender or rebounder. Dumars is supposed to be a good GM, but he's putting a lot on Stuckey and whatever he might get for Rip/Tayshaun in a trade.

I like these moves for us, but not for detriot, they just added 2 bad defensive players and Charlie V really has not impressed me that much, Ben Gorden for big bucks really, I mean he is a good scorer, but he is a limited player not a great passer and a liability against bigger 2's.

You may end up right, but the idea is to have Stuckey guard 2's given that he's 6-5 205lbs. We'll see how it works out, but he was easily our best defender against Lebron in the playoffs. It's the small quick PGs that give him more trouble. So, that could work out.

But yea, unless we get rid of Rip (I can't imagine not), it makes zero sense.
