Could OKC get Rubio and Harden?

Post#1 » by london sonic » Sun Jun 21, 2009 11:57 am

Just thinking outside the box considering we have Presti as GM. Assuming Memphis pass on Rubio and take Thabeet as the rumours are saying.Rubio would be avaliable and happy to come to OKC could Presti take him not to trade but to keep. As posted on here Presti does know his europeans and Rubio looks best one thats come out for a while. I know OKC have Westbrook pegged to be the future at point but still the question marks are there and Rubio could be a talent at the position you just cant pass on.This is where it now comes to Harden Ive been a strong supporter of getting this guy to OKC hes a natural shooting guard that does everything well and will fit nicely into this squad. The wizards are looking to add a guard to pair up with Arenas could Westbrook be the perfect match for him a player able to split time at point, athletic and plays good D. So its quite simple draft Rubio and trade Westbrook to the wizards for the 5th pick and draft Harden.OKC then have a natural point and shooting guard to add to Durant and Green. I know this is based on Memphis taking Thabeet and Kings passing on Harden and leaving OKC starting the season with two rookie starters at guard but this team is being built for the future. With Presti at GM anything is possible.

I love the idea. People thought OKC reached for Russ. He seems to have proved people wrong. This is a weak draft and given this situation Harden would be there still.

Having said that, I would think Washington should just keep the pick and take Harden rather than take a "project" combo guard in Russ. I have always thought Harden and Arenas would be great together.

Sitting on RUbio wouldn't be a bad idea. The team could make a decision by the trade deadline on who to keep. If Harden could be had for Green (even if it meant taking on a contract), that might be alright too. I wouldn't rush trading Westbrook though.

Although i know you guys are really attached to to westbrook

would you do a

Rubio + Love

for

Westbrook + Green

trade?

These guys are obtainable to me because they already have players at that position in Flynn and Jefferson. Giving them a starting lineup of

Flynn
Westbrook
Green
Jefferson
??

and OKC a lineup of

Rubio
Harden
Durant
Love
??

if that trade went down, OKC is just flat out scary, with four young core prospects under 20.

I dont know, the more I look at it you may even have to throw in collison and a second rounder in there.

I have no idea where everyones value is at right now, so dont mind me if this sounds crazy.

Honestly, from the Wolves perspective, I'd rather have Green/Harden + something for Rubio/Love. Westbrook is more proven than Harden obviously, but I like Flynn/Harden a bit better as a backcourt.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.
