Gionta got 5/25. The guy is on the downside of his career and is not the player that scored 48 goals.

Gaborik hasn't done a thing to prove he is worth 7.5 mil.

These GMs are stupid.

John Madden to the Blackhawks. 1 year 2.75 mil. Like this signing.

He hasn't been able to stay healthy, but when he has been healthy, he's been a stud. He could be a 100pt per season player if he could stay on the ice.

Of course, with his injury risk, the 7.5 price tag does seem a little high. But that's market rate for you.

Ottawa resigns Chris Neil and grossly over pays for him at 4 years, 2 mil per year.

Doesn't need to be. He's still a solid player.

But for 5 million a season, he needs to produce at least 30 goals. He isn't good in the defensive zone.

Yeah, he's overpaid. Cammo too, slightly.

But sadly, even though being the top franchise in NHL history, the Habs have to overpay everyone because of the media and the douchebag fans.

Who you calling a douchebag sh00n!?! :( haha

I dunno about having to overpay this offseason though, I think we may have been able to cut back on the offers just a tad to save 1-2 million/season and we still could have gotten who we wanted. However, we'll never know now, because Gainey overpaid them just to make sure.

Now we have 8.8 million to re-sign our RFA's and invest about 3 million into another UFA possibly.

Havlat's still out there for you.

John Madden now to the Hawks. Well, they certainly aren't hiding their strategy for next season, are they?

EDIT: Nevermind, sorry bigslam...

Did Montreal just take a pool skimmer and grab whatever they could in the FA pool?

Supposedly size wasn't available so we went for most talent, as per Gainey.

Yet Kovalev, Tanguay, Schneider and Koivu are still there. . .

Ouch. He was my fall back plan too - although I don't know if he would have wanted to come back to O-Town?

I'm all for the B's signing former Habs. But I hate it when they go out and sign former scabs. Seriously, Begin???? WTF Chiarelli?

Do nothing. Nothing at all, except sign your RFA's, and I would be happy. Why did we have to sign that scumbucket,

ugh.

Good day for the blackhawks. IDK about their future though. I like the Montreal Signings of Cammo, and Gionta. Just not the contracts. Poor hal gill is booed enough in boston, I don't blame him for going to a team where everyone gets booed by boston fans.

The sedins staying and JayBo finally signing with calgary were the best moves.

The Begin signing was to replace yelle who will not be returning. He will play with thornton and bitz, thats a solid 4th line. I'm not complaining, we don't have cash to throw around.

Right on about that last part. We have nothing to work with. which is why it is awesome seeing chia be able to re-sign all these guys.

Recchi re-ups for 1 year!!

Reliable Rob signs with the Kings. 4 years, $3.4 mil cap hit. Good for the Kings. Signed arguable the best defensive d-man in the game. "The Piece" will be missed in Pittsburgh.

I guess the consolation is that the Pens may be able to get Fedotenko and Sykora back now, and simply bring up Lovejoy if they can't sign another dman.
