Or can they just offer the league minimum? If so, Ariza please!

They have the MLE and LLE. Will they spend it? Probably not.

It's being reported that Ariza may not rejoin the Lakers because they can only offer the MLE. So... don't think he'll make it to AZ if that's all they can offer. If the Suns are going to go after a restricted free agent, I personally think they should go after Ramon Sessions.

Ramon is the main guy we need if we are going to rebuild but if were not we need a big time sf or sg

If we can't get Artest for a 5yr MLE, then I'd throw that at Sessions. That kid is going to be a solid starter in the future.

sessions is a starter and I do not think he is coming to the suns to play backup to Nash. why would he?

suns have their MLE, and if they resign Hill, they have to use part of the MLE to resign him. The suns will spend as less money as possible in bringing in FA. So they will not be active and will play a wait and see approach to see who is going to be a great value pickup and cheap FA.

Do not expect the full MLE being spent anytime soon with the suns.

HOUSTON (AP) - A person close to the situation tells The Associated Press that the Houston Rockets are meeting with Los Angeles Lakers forward Trevor Ariza.

The person, who did not want to be identified because the negotiations were ongoing, said Rockets general manager Daryl Morey was meeting with the free agent in Las Vegas.

The meeting was first reported by KRIV-TV in Houston, which also said Coach Rick Adelman was meeting with Ariza. The AP source could not confirm that.

David Lee, Ariza's agent, did not immediately return a phone message left by the AP.

The 6-foot-8 Ariza averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Lakers last season, which ended with the NBA championship.

Now the news is Houston is offering him the MLE - why woudl he leave the league champs to go to them for the same $$$?

Lets us offer him the MLE to come to the desert and be a star

good question- he wouldnt

odom 'love the beach' forget about it. artest or sessions would be awesome. they will probably use part of their MLE on hill and not spend the rest, i dunno. it would be cool if they did spend it tho, if only to ruhTARD the whining in phx about sarver being cheap
