Not sure if any of you heard EG on the Junkies this morning but it was pretty interesting. At one point Ernie was discussing the versatility of the roster and went through every player on the roster and what positions they can play. Absent from the list was Deshawn who was totally snubbed and not mentioned at all. Ernie named four players that could be at the 2 spot but did not mention Stevenson. I have to imagine this was planned and aimed at letting Stevenson know he has to have a great camp or he is gone.

That may also explain all the guards on the summer league team, if Stevenson is gone they might have one more spot.

My guess is that they want to trade Stevenson, but they know he is unmovable right now. They'll probably try and showcase him at some point this season to demostrate that his back has healed, and then try to move him at the Trade Deadline.

On paper, that sounds like a pretty good plan. There aren't any minutes available right now, which is fine because his back isn't yet 100%. I figure somebody will get hurt at around the time that Stevenson gets healthy, which will free up some minutes for him.

I'd like to see something like this at the Trade Deadline:

Washington trades: Stevenson + Crittenton
OKC trades: Earl Watson

It gets us a veteran backup PG for the playoffs, and it frees up $6.3M in cap room next year
