Sheed Contract info.......

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Thu Jul 2, 2009 6:20 pm

"According to the source, the Celtics are willing to offer the full $5.8 million mid-level exception, but were only planning on offering the 35-year-old a two-year contract."

MLE for two years would be awesome.

Exactly what I would do.

I think he will want 3-4 though. I might go up to 3.

Very nice. Not a problem with that at all. Everyone ready to brace for the 2011 fa class?

No problem with that either. When does Kevin Durant become a free agent? Sheed's contact can be anywhere from 1 year to however many years away that is and I will be happy. That's the guy I really want anyway :D

Yeah, I want him and Greg Oden. My own personal FU to that lottery. An acknowldgement that we got F'd, went to plan b for a few years, and then got both of them. Eat that NBA.

This is a good thought. I love happy endings (and adding vengeance only makes it better.)

I think we all expected that.

And I also think we will add one more year if we need to...

Great plans.

Perk / Oden
KG
Durant
Pierce / Ray
Rondo

...looks okay for the future I guess

Even if it's a 3 year deal, that's totaly fine. At the end of year 2, his expiring 5 mil would be a great trading asset. if he's still contributing, you keep him.

I really hope its 2 years, 2011 is when we should clear room for a max guy, and go all out for Durant

Really hope to see Sheed in green

I think in 2 years, sheed will be done. He's already on the downside part of his career, so 2 years from now, especially if we make 2 long playoff runs, I don't think he'd be anywhere close to the sheed is now.

Anyone else think he will pull a Posey on us if he doesn't get what he wants?

I think it's pretty clear that Wallace is looking for that 3rd year.

I'd go up to 3. Jump shooting big man can contribute well past their prime, IMHO. Its not that crazy an idea.

3rd year i don't mind. it's the 4th year that will be the killer.

someone else may very well give him that 4th year, and he may go posey on us. actually, i'm not as worried about it just because there are other good big men out there to get.

I think everyone here is fine with 3 years. The question is, are Wyc and co. willing to do the same?

Rashweed will be 35 this September.

Although he's a legitimate 6' 9.75" without shoes,

the way he dragged that knee of his around in the playoffs makes me suspect

that he's about due for a scope. As an arthroscopic surgery.

Better to do it now, than screw up another Celtic season, if he does come to Boston.

With the over 36 rule I can see why the Celtics are offering 2 years at the full MLE.

Someone else (San Antonio) will probably offer 3.

The Celtics might be persuaded to go that far.

But I know they won't go 4.

But again, if he needs a scope, don't pull a Scot Pollard and limp
around training camp in October.

Take care of business now.

Celtics medical staff, are you listening???

If you are able to sign Rashweed, you better have him down on this point,
and not be pulling a KG in February "Ooh, my knee hurts."

3 is fine as he is probably worth around 7 now so if in the 3rd year we are paying him 6 when he is worth 4 it all evens out. Hell, if we HAD to give him a 4th I would do it. I think he will simply be worth it to us now to over pay later.Bad contracts are not that bad. Someone will always take your junk, usually its CW.
