Yeah, no way is Ariza going to fit in the power forward position. He's not big enough. He's already having trouble guarding some of the tougher small forwards in the league (Lebron, Pierce)

Re: Trevor Ariza
Why do I get the feeling that Ariza is just playing Danny for a Fool by using his "so called" interest in the Cavs as a bargining chip with the Lakers?
Extend him the FULL MLE....if he wont commit......SEE YA !
Trade AV and Boobie for Artest.

It's simple. He saw the Lakers' offer as disrespectful. This actually happened with us and AV, where he for less with another team than what we were offering to start. Luckily, he was a RFA so we were able to match.
I'd prefer Artest to Ariza, as one will probably end up in LA and one here, but if Artest re-signs with Houston, I would be extremely happy with Ariza.
No offense but this is the same poor logic that was thrown about with the Bynum negotiations last year.

News Flash: If AV was a RFA and signed for less money with another team wouldn't he know being a RFA that Cle would pick him up for that amount? Duh.... As such, Cle was probably offering less than what they matched (probably waiting on another deal that didn't happen). We will never know.

Re: Trevor Ariza
According to news reports the Cavs offer was indeed higher, but the agent was telling Andy that he was worth, and going to get more so they turned the Cavs down. When it became apparent that they werent going to get anything close to 10 mil, it became a waiting game. The agent didnt want to look like the fool that he was so he instructed Andy to wait on a better offer that never came, and convinced him the Cavs offer was insulting.
They also thought the Cavs would cave after Andy held out, but when that didnt happen they decided to take the Bobcats offer rather than eat crow and admit they were wrong and look like fools. Now the reports may have been wrong, but they were never refuted by Andy or his agent to my knowledge.

Ariza signs with Houston for the MLE. Cleveland could have gotten him.
Tell LBJ to start recruiting.

If so, AV should truly be grateful that he didn't face any negativity upon his return.

how is Lebron supposed to recruit when the other person is probably thinking 'dude, you're gonna be GONE after next year'. I'm not saying that's whats going to happen but what the guys could be thinking.

Ariza also got the MLE for 5 years. CLE wasn't going to pay that.

Re: Trevor Ariza
I could not blame LBJ if he left Cleveland. The roster has been terribly managed from the time he became a Cav. A few of the bad contracts: Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall, Big Z, Ira Newble, Drew Gooden, and Varejao. The Cavs are the only team that would pay these guys this much. It is almost comical if it wasn't so sad.

So I guess there was no offer. If I were a betting man, I'd think that only Houston actually offered something to Ariza.
But then if Cavs were not willing to offer that money to Ariza, I wonder who they think they can get for less than MLE. Reports say Sheed is not considering Cleveland.

We can say good bye to LeBron. I won't even watch the NBA next year.

Quit overreacting. We are still one of the top teams in the NBA.
