Mark topics read

Post#1 » by BadWolf » Fri Jan 9, 2009 8:42 pm

i check the forum, see what I want and click mark topics read.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it leaves some topics as unread, sometimes it doesn't work at all.
it's also computer dependent. i check this forum from home and work, sometimes even from different computers at work, and the feature is computer dependent, ie what I check at home and mark is unchecked at the other computer.
I know there are forums , maybe different software, IP Boards for sure, that have data about read, unread topics on site rather then a cookie.
Is there any chance to make this work?

ps - on the old forum it was different. If I checked in and then I checked everything was marked as read when I checked back.

This has been annoying me recently too. The only way to mark topics as read is to actually read them. It appears to go back to June 13, 2008 for me (went back 8 pages on this board until I found topics that were read).

Any work on this?
Lately it's getting worse, the mark topics as read doesn't work at all.

BUMP

This has just started up with me again and it's been a nightmare!

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.5

Anyone else having issues with it? it's weird because one thread - the stickied one at the top - works fine when I click 'new' post and it disappears when I go back to the main Suns page, but all the rest remain there even after I read them. Ugh

The only way I can get it to work is to go back to the board index and mark all forums read.

That seems to work.
