Coro: if Suns keep Amare, then trading Nash is an option

* Last week, Steve Nash popped up for interviews at his charity soccer game in New York City and handled the Knicks questions. On Thursday, he was talking again in suburban Vancouver at the unveiling of the second Steve Nash Sports Club. He is also there working on his documentary about Canadian runner Terry Fox. Nash's comments stayed in line with his recent stances that he wishes to remain with Phoenix, except this was the first time he has spoken about the possibility of being traded this year. If the Suns are leaning toward keeping Amare Stoudemire -- and it seems they are -- then trading Nash would look like an option if next week's contract extension talks don't bear fruit. Of course, you better get back a point guard that can run the system if you do so. Nash again talks about how he would like to go to New York if he can't remain a Sun but Jason Kidd seems to be in control of that as he weighs offers from New York and Dallas this weekend. I think it does. The team would go into rebuild mode with Amare and accomodate Nash.

I think it is a strong possibility to trade Nash. I think the Suns won't be looking for nearly as much in return for Nash as they would Amar'e. But, I have strong reservations about rebuilding around Amar'e. Yes he's a great talent and scorer but he's not a D. Wade, Kobe type person that you want to build around. He's not that great of a leader. Last year he said it wasn't his job to rally the troops because he wasn't a captain. Oh Boo Hoo. You want to be a max player and have the Suns commit their future to you, then act like it. Play some D. I know Nash is old and the D is lacking but he makes people better he is a leader. If only he was younger. He would have been the perfect person to build around. Too bad

trade one of them, it doesn´t matter. like i said before, this team will not win anything. so why should we pay a 35 ( !!! ) year old pg millions of dollar and have no chance? this team will need at least two more seasons to maybe be back as a contender. if i were kerr i would trade him.

Seems like JKidd is stying in Dallas. This means that the Knicks will pursue Nash even harder....
Our FO just doesn't make sense. We made all the moves to accommodate Nash (sign Gentry, trade Shaq, and possibly keep Amare) just to end up hearing he might be gone....
They better find a young replacement for Nash if hes gone otherwise next season would be another mess.....

Amare was a 20-9 player the year before Nash came to the Suns, if they can replace him with a defensive minded pg or even have Dragic take over starting since he plays defense they will be in good shape.

If we had someone like Ainge I would figure he had something up his sleeve so that all of a sudden we would be number one in a couple seasons. With our ownership, 2 years is very optimistic. We get rid of Amar'e, we have no star power at all. A point guard who makes excellent passes to nobody and a bunch of shot chuckers and ABSOLUTELY no inside, unless Clark becomes a superstar in the next 2 years.

We get rid of Nash, we just have a bunch of ballhogs out there.

And I just don't think the FO has anything up their sleeve. They've basically been in stop-loss the past season or 2, just selling draft picks and trying to minimize how much we spend to not win a ring. If we get rid of Nash or Amar'e, just finding/developing a REPLACEMENT will take 2 seasons, and then we start at whatever developmental level towards a ring we are at now. I think we need to keep Amar'e and Nash, otherwise I would put any amount of money on no ring for 4-5 years.

Why blow it up when we dont even have a first round draft pick?? Coro is right, if we trade Nash, we better be getting back a playmaker. But if we trade him to NY how would that be possible. What a huge mess.

Get one back in a trade whether it's for Nash or Amare? Plus, they'll want to try to get as much talent back to keep it from being high.

But I think it's highly unlikely we do a deal with NY ever while D'Antoni is there. Unless, the deal swings in our favor by a lot. I just don't see it happening..

Our FO has to be the dumbest people in the NBA's front offices. Is this simple, if you trade Amare then you have to trade Nash. If you trade Nash, then you have to trade Amare. Whats going to keep this team some what competative is going to be the combo of Amare and Nash. If we trade either one, then you will see how quickly our ship sinks.... Freaking NO is open about trading Chandler, go trade for him ASAP! Isn't that what Steve Nash wants? Isnt this what this team needs in order to be a top 5 team in the Western conferance. Damn, this is so depressing!! Well, Kerr and Sarver are by products from Tucson, I guess what else should we expect.

New York's first is held by Utah for next season if I'm correct (which we held before trading it away). Imagine if we did blow it up and we had our first and NY's first. But enough of the what ifs. Ruiner is right - we would need a first if we trade Nash or Amare and it had better be a lottery bound pick. The more I think about what Coro wrote the more I'm not sure if it makes sense. Why would Grant Hill even want to return here or at least make that decision if theres a possibility that we trade Nash and blow it up.
