Small Por-MN
Two options:
First deal:
Outlaw for Smith + Houston 2nd
(Some Portland fans were interested, but ultimately decided they want to shop around first)
Second deal:
Webster for Smith + Brown
(Seemingly not as good of a deal, but Webster could turn out to be a diamond in the rough. This is essentially a pretty big gamble. However, he fits a need as he could play the 2 or the 3 and is very good long range shooter)

I would rather have Webster but either deal would be fine with me.

I edited the Webster deal (aka Shrink's favorite
) to include Brown as that deal was accepted by one of the better Blazer's posters.

Classic.
It works better when you quote some sarcasm though.

It's worth noting that Webster has the same standing reach and wing span as Love -- 8'10" and 6'11"

its also worth noting he had screws inserted into his foot and will skip the summer league, we'd be trading for a guy that won't have played since a serious foot injury, kind of risky considering our delicate cap situation

I like both of them. Throw in a 2nd round pick in the 2nd trade. We have enough of them ;=)

yea, still so random though considering the guy he was responding to just made a harmless post. Must've been Etan Thomas' relative or something.

It's this new theory I've invented. It's called buy low, sell high.
Next stop: Wall Street.
I'm going to be a millionaire! You'll see!

No need to. it was accepted. Only problem is getting Shrink to okay the salary cap hit. I don't think it's going to happen unless Telfair or Songalia is going out somehow.

Chris Paul knows something about that

Last time I heard, he was doing okay

but...he's gonna be using his feet frequently...and there's screws in there
It'd be nice to own the Blazers for a change, but knowing the Wolves they'd make the trade then Webster would need his feet amputated 3 months later.

Paul's recovery time was month, Webster had his surgery October of 2008, it's many many moons later and he still isn't cleared to run or jump
granted they're being extra cautious because they don't want anymore setbacks, but still

Re: Small Por-MN
I'd think about it but I'd probably pass on both.
Outlaw is at least expiring so there would be little risk but Webster has got four years remaining and as Devilz noted is coming off foot surgery. I don't see enough upside in him to warrant taking on that risk. I'd rather wait and focus on a bigger fish.

I like the Outlaw trade, he would get more minutes on our team because he can play some SF, and we need a little bit of SF depth.
Webster is too big of a risk IMO. 3 years (4th is a team option) for 14 million is a lot of money to pay someone who might not be completely healthy.

Re: Small Por-MN
Webster's on a 3 year deal with a team option for the 4th, but it's a pretty low cost one--he'd be making less than Love's rookie deal. I'd say it's worth the risk. He's never really gotten the chance to prove himself, and if he comes back from injury he could turn into something very worthwhile. If he can't come back from the injury, can't we wipe his salary anyway (if he's forced to retire)?
To me, it's just adding another rookie deal, essentially, and he still has a lot of upside.

Re: Small Por-MN
What about Telfair, Songaila, Brown for Blake, Webster. Blazers trim the 3 year deal without going straight to expirings. We add a PG with size to back up Flynn this year and take a flyer on Webster.
Throw in a 2nd rounder if necessary.
