Why not go after Amare?

Post#1 » by Dapro » Fri Jul 3, 2009 4:30 pm

With TMac And Yao's healthy in limbo. Rockets need a big name. Everyone knows Amare is on the market since Suns want to get something back before he bolt in 2010. The question is anything the Suns want from the Rockets.

Isn't Amare's health also a concern? I'm not just talking the detached retina (how is that healing, by the way?), but didn't he also have microfracture surgery?

I would welcome a healthy Amare with open arms to the Rockets, but unless we know his health status then it is not likely that we'd sign him to an extension, which sounds like what he wants.

As for what the Suns want - the rumors (debunked) regarding McGrady came about due to the financial woes of the Suns owner. I do think that there is a great deal of truth there, and that we could possibly see a deal centering around McGrady & Amare, especially since insurance is covering so much of Mcgrady's deal while he's injured.

i been wonderin the same exact thing......... i see amare as a perfect piece to this team... trade tracy for him the suns get some cap relief which apparently they been lookin for wit the shaq trade plus shaq never really fit in......... and since yao maybe out for the first half of the season start amare at center till he gets back then put him at the pf which will allow us to trade one of our pf's for either another athletic scorer or a young scorer with hieght.... i mean if we got amare we wouldnt need both landry and scola id prefer to keep landry because of his age and potential and scola probably would bring something better in return sighting his perfomance in the playoffs and all of last season but could u imagine amare in RA's system... him running the court wit AB and wasnt the rumor in the pheonix trade tracy for barbosa and amare.... now that would leave the line up for the begining of the season........
AB/Lowry
Barbosa?/Ariza/taylor
Battier/ariza
Scola/Landry/chuck
Amare/Dorsey
Now im not sure Ariza can play the 2 but that is still a decent lineup with a mix of defense and scoring and sure Amare has had injury issues but if it pans out then it is a great idea and that team should hold there own for the first part of the season........ and then if/when yao comes back imagine the trade possibilities u'd be stacked at pf and the obvious issue wit that first unit is none of the players can consistently create there own shot so we would need a scorer but just look at how deep we would become
AB/Lowry
new scorer/Barbosa/Ariza
Ariza/Battier
Amare/Landry or scola
Yao/Amare/Dorsey
Now i dont know about u but that team looks dangerous... Yao comes out the game Amare moves to the five and we dont miss a beat and are tempo can go up.. and i dont know why people say amare doesnt play defense maybe he aint the best defensive big man in the league but he has too much pride as a player to just let people torch him.... and who are they gunna double yao with not amare's man cus his jumper is gettin better every year and the rest of the people can shoot its a dangerous squad and would put us right back in the equation for a championship along with still givin brooks and some of the younger guys an opportunity to grow and i know the main arguement about this is going to be chemistry but yao is not selfish aaron makes plays and is only going to get better at this and amare will benifit from this greatly Anybody got any ideas on who the scorer could be? i mean i wouldnt be opposed to includin barbosa and scola for a young unselfish scorer and if it can get us a superstar then throw in battier but we'd most likely need a backup sf.... i mean amare gives us flexibility and what are we givin up for it Tracy? i know management has to realize what most of us have tracy is a great player when he's healthy but can u depend on him to be that way...... NO... and id rather give a younger amare a chance at stayin healthy plus he wont be playin that run and gun pheonix ball which is more likely to get you hurt because u have more possesions and more fast breaks and just more chaos.......

Suns aren't giving Amare to Houston unless Ariza or Brooks is involved
