OT: Are any of Portland's players on the block?

Post#1 » by campybatman » Fri Jul 3, 2009 11:40 pm

That is, could reserve players such as Outlaw, Webster or Fernandez be traded? Remember, Portland is still paying Miles' salary next season, and the team will need to sign both Roy and Aldridge to an extension now or after next season.

Hmmm... I thought I read Blake was going to be traded to Philadelphia for Andre Miller.

Anyways, I've said in the past that I would've an interest in Outlaw. Fernandez could be interesting for depth with House and Tony both have expiring contracts.

Portland is absolutely loaded with talent--and now they add Turkoglu...Of course they won't be able to beat the Lakers in the playoffs--cause, that's their MO.......I doubt Potland will trade with us, cause of the Miles situation.....I just want them to Beat LA for ONCE in their MISERABLE existence.

I'm guessing Outlaw could be had. Right now, they have Outlaw, Webster, Batum and Rudy who are capable of playing the 3 spot. They're going to have to let someone go, especially with Rudy being unhappy about his playing time being cut into with Turkoglu's signing.

Here's the sad part though - Portland isn't a team that really needs to cut salary. They're not going to dump any of these guys unless they get something good back. My guess would be that Outlaw could be had. Perhaps we could do a sign and trade with Leon or Baby since they're looking for some bulk off the bench.

If we get Sheed, we should definitely look into a S&T of Davis for either Webster or Outlaw. I knew there was some mention of it before. I mean, it was just fan speculation, but Portland fans seemed to be interested.

I'd kill for Rudy.

I remember reading that Portland was interested in trading Outlaw and Rudy long before they were rumored to be after Turkoglu, so I'd have to say that is even more likely now.

I'd do a trade for Outlaw.

No because Turkoglu won't be a Blazer.

I haven't read Portland's name attached to G. Davis yet. But he could be a nice complement to Aldridge with them moving on from Frye. It'll have to be a sign-and-trade.

The Blazers have shown interest in acquiring Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich. Hinrich, 28, has three more years and $26.5 million remaining on his contract, including $9.5 million next season. Portland forward Travis Outlaw, who turns 25 in September, will make $4 million in the final year of his contract next season. The Blazers will be far enough under the cap that they could send Outlaw to Chicago for Hinrich in a straight-up deal.

That’s just an example of what could happen. A report out of Philadelphia said the Blazers are interested in free agent point guard Andre Miller, who made $10 million last season.
