Sign and trade options?

Post#1 » by BillessuR6 » Sat Jul 4, 2009 8:29 am

With only MLE and LLE available we aren`t in a position to add other significant players if we use the full MLE on Sheed. That is why a sign and trade is the only option to get solid players and not adding additional salary.

Aldrige is reporting that Raptors may explore a sign and trade deal with Orlando that would send Delfino to the Magic...can we get someone like Delfino or maybe Parker? We don`t have big assets but TA or a couple of young guys might interest some teams...

Why would Toronto do sign & trades? Don't they need to clear room for Turka-glue, and not take contracts back??

You are right, of course...they need to renounce both to make room for Hedo. Unless they sign them with their MLE and then trade them...

how about Tyson Chandler?? Hornets are trying to trade him again, and he would be a good back up big man for us. Good defense anyway- boards and blocks, hes long, protects the rim when KG and/or Perk are on the bench. Especially if we don't get Sheed.......

ok, this thing called trade checker, learn it. that way u don't sound mindless.

Only way to get player like chandler is to trade perk in the deal (makes no sense) or use ray for chandler and others (still, no sense at all)

if we are going to throw out ideas, throw out ones that work under the cba.

we got enough salary of ending deals to take on 8.6m. no more. Who can we get for 8.6 sign and trade, or already has less then 8.6m or less and a team that would take ending deals and late draft picks (most likely to happen)

camby, makes no sense for us with sheed, just keep baby.

barbosa? sg/pg.... isnt that eddie?

Noc? makes most sense. Rumors had us on him before draft. Scal, allen, giddons for noc works. They get out of his contract. ? that's my gut feeling....

That's a deal I would like to see as well. If Battier can't be had in a S&T anyway.

What about Grant Hill for Tony Allen. If Hill wants to go to Boston then maybe the Suns will help him out and give him more money. This would save the LLE.

You sure about this, now that House is officially on the books? God knows, I don't want to sound mindless here.

sure, if we also traded house it would work. 4-1 ending contracts? neither team would do it.

Maybe not. It's strictly a salary dump for them, so whatever player(s) they get in return don't really matter. They could just cut whoever they don't want. I mean, they were gonna trade Chandler for Ben Wallace, and he's had a giant fork in his back for a couple of years.

For us, the only guy we'd be giving up that really contributed would be House. All the rest either don't play, or barely play, and are easily replaced. I'd probably do it if I were Danny. Chandler would be quite decent backing up Perk. Then resign Baby.

I'm not necessarily advocating it, but it seems plausible. We definitely need a plan B, C, and D if Sheed opts not to come here.

If Detroit can't swing a sign & trade of Gordon for AI with Chicago, do they have to renounce Sheed's rights to sign Gordon and Charlie V? If they don't have to renounce Sheed, then it's possible to do a sign and trade of Glenn Davis, TA, and a pick for Sheed, and give Sheed more than the MLE... Detroit's one of the teams showing interest in Davis... Not only does such a deal top SA and Orlando's offers, but Boston still has their full MLE for another player.

Return to Boston Celtics
