Reading all the rumors and seeing how Cavs can better their chances now and in 2010.And with less teams in positions to do move now that their hands are being dealt. I see possible deals on the table. Utah and Houston are rumored to be willing to do a AK for TMac swap but Utah is afraid of his health. Utah is also rumored to be looking for youth and some takers for Boozer since he didnt opt out and Detroit no longer wants him. They want youth and bench depth since they were exposed last year. I think we can help both teams out and work out great but I know everyone will say we get too much but I can see why both teams do this but some people won't so... like I said this is crazy but it just may work:
Houston Gives:
Tracy McGrady
Joey Dorsey
2010 1st rd pick top 20 protected
Houston gets
Andrei Kirilenko
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
2010 2nd rd pick Cavs
Houston does this because they get AK but they also get Zydrunas Ilgauskas. With Yao being rumored to be out for the season and Brian Cook being their next tallest player who is a PF and Chuck Hayes playing center, Zydrunas fills in perfectly. They still get scoring and enough spacing for Brooks to run around the lane.
Lineup:
Brooks
Battier/Ariza/ or Von Wafer
Andrei Kirilenko
Scola
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Utah Gives:
Andrei Kirilenko
Carlos Boozer
Utah Gets:
Wally Szczerbiak(S&T 13mil)
Daniel Gibson
JJ Hickson
Danny Green
Joey Dorsey
Rights to Christian Eyenga
2010 Houston 1st rd pick(top 20 protected)
2011 Cleveland 1st rd pick (Unprotected) [This is important because it can likely be a lottery if LBJ leaves]
2013 Cleveland 1st rd pick(Unprotected)
Cash(Max) in case they want to buy out Wally
Utah does this to get out of AK's contract and get value for Boozer with his health issues and likely hood of pulling a Boozer at the end of the season. They get to resign Milsap who would cost a hell of a lot less then Boozer but does the same job and is younger and healthier. They get youth at almost every position. Daniel Gibson the back up PG they have been looking for, Danny Green who is the type of wing Sloan likes(Byron Russell type) and could likely immediately play, two undersized bigs who Sloan seems to get the most out of in Dorsey(Ben Wallace type) and JJ Hickson(19 years old with tons of potential). A likely future lottery pick in Eyenga who could be a steal in a few years. They get 3 1st rd picks: 2010 houston gives them 3 for that draft(Theirs and NY unprotected), 2011 is very valuable and likely a lottery if Lebron leaves, and 2013 is the sprinkle on top. I believe that is hell of a value even if it is nothing immediate.
lineup:
Deron William
Kyle Korver
Brewer
Milsap
Okur
Cavs give:
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Wally (S&T)
Daniel Gibson
JJ Hickson
Danny Green
Rights to Christian Eyenga
2010 2nd rd pick
2011 1st rd pick unprotected
2013 1st rd pick unprotected
cash
Cavs get:
Tracy McGrady
Carlos Boozer
Cavs do this for the last woo to keep Lebron but still the expirings to do what is necessary in 2010. They pretty much give up all their youth without giving up their core. They will become the favorites and still havent used their MLE or resigned people which they will do but the lineup will be sick if healthy and can stay on the court. The team is practically unguardable and everyone will have problems but hopefully Brown can keep it under raps. They may lose some flexability to get Bosh since they dont have picks but they will have the players necessary to make trades. They wont have a bench though but MLE and LLE would work.
Lineup:
Mo Williams/ Delonte West
Tracy Mcgrady/ Anthony Parker or Grant Hill(LLe)
Lebron James/ Matt Barnes
Carlos Boozer/ Joe Smith(resigned) or Rasheed Wallace(MLE)
Shaq Oneal/ Anderson Varajao(resigned)
I know crazy but I think this trade could possibly work in favor of all parties. I am ready for the bashing. Do deliver. At least think twice then bash. lol.....

dude i love this trade for the cavs!. the only negative is we loose all our youth besides D-Block, meaning we would have to win this year, not only because of Lebron, but also because we have no young guys, i know Utha needs depth but could we switch Green with Kinsey, and hold on to JJ, Boobie and Eyenga i dotn care bout, but id liekt o keep Green and JJ

The Cavs would be complete fools to give up their 2011 1st rounder unprotected. Absolute idiots. Personally, I'd much rather have Kirilenko than Boozer as well.

This is a sick trade for us if Tmac stays healthy we are an absolute force now and Tmac, Boozer, and Shaq all are in the last year of there deals. we will have massive cap room next year if it blows up in our face but we need to do this because if it works and we win it all Lebron will be here for the next 6 years or so. The only downside is that we have no bench now but we can split up the MLE and sign 3 or 4 guys for depth. The unprotected 2011 pick makes this deal work for the other teams so we cant take it out. I love the trade as is and I hope Ferry sees this and it puts a spark under his butt to focus on making some major moves like this not like signing AP like hes doing now. Great Trade Idea way to think it out and be realistic I hate when people post trade that make no sense, this one does for all sides.

I don't know if it's a really good trade for us. McGrady is washed up and Boozer has no business playing with the Cavs anymore after what happened last time.

I know this trade is fair if my fellow Cav fans think this is a a tough trade. Mcgrady probably wont start the season but to know that he will be learning the plays and how to fit from the sideline is enough for me to think that he would be great in the second half and in the post season. We lose youth and that is a given but the players we give up can't win a championship this year and without Lebron their next couple of years growing would be useless. If we get to keep Green I think it would be great. Even if we kept JJ he would never be our starting PF if we are going after Bosh. Bosh I think we could possibly get in a Boozer swap S&T or even at the trade deadline if Bosh forces it and says he will leave for someplace else for a max deal if they dont do a trade with the Cavs. If we win a championship imagine how much we can resign Shaq for next season(hometown discount to give him more distance between Him and Duncan/Kobe). We'd still have a lil cap and the MLE next season. And with the struggling economy we would still be able to purchase late 1sts. I think this would be a done deal no matter what the health of those two guys are. Look at the talent and the 2010 space we are getting.

I don't have a problem with McGrady really. Boozer however is just not as good as people keep trying to give him credit. He plays no defense (and with Z and Shaq as our centers we need a big who's going to play defense) and he'd once again be out 4 option, which is what left to him leaving previously

And Outlaw I respect all of your opinions but our 2011 unprotected gets us two all-stars, olympians and max cap for 2010. I think we may seriously be able to do that deal without the 2nd 1st(2013) so we could still package a 1st for Chris Bosh. I think if we get Bosh by the trade deadline Lebron staying is a done deal. That is what is important.

But does it put the best possible team together for 2010? I really don't think it does.

With a way better chance to get Chris Bosh or any max player I think it does.
Hickson is going to be ready is 2010? Maybe.
Danny Green is going to show lottery type skills? 2nd rd steal at best.
Christian Eyenga? 2-3 years to mature in Europe then 2 years to adjust to NBA, we would hope he is ready by Lebrons next contract.
Daniel Gibson? Mo Williams took his place as BFF and now Boobie seems to be looking on the outside in, a lot like Pavs over the past years.
Z and Wally wouldnt even be on the team in 2010 unless they resign for cheap
So on the other hand:
21 mil expiring in TMac(won't have to carry team on his back like Houston or Orlando)
20 mil expiring in Shaq ( Who doesnt have to be the dominate force he once was with a beast like Lebron in the lineup, great passing from the post for a 3 pt shooting efficient team, back to 3-4 ast)
12.5 mil expiring in Carlos Boozer( I think he actually becomes 2nd option and perfect pick and roll if you havent notice him and Deron the last couple of years) Perfect bargaining piece for Toonto to S&T and team with Hedo and Calderon if the lose Bosh. I am certain they rather Boozer then nothing.
So 2010:
If we dont get Bosh at the trade deadline then S&T Boozer+ rights to whoever we select in 1st rd 2010 when Bosh forces deal or walk so then we sign him to a max deal with the capspace
Resign Shaq to discount rate even though it is cold in Cavs he will like the fact that he is playing with a pass first Superstar.
If we work the S&T, if McGrady plays well he may decide to play again and we can S&T or resign but I would say S&T possibly (10mil per) for Gerald Wallace or Josh Howard depending on what their values look like or some type of wing.
If we are at the cap we can use the MLE on Mike Miller or a FA who only took 1yr deals this year.
But my point is there are endless possibilities:
possible lineup:
Mo/Delonte / 2010 1st rd pick Cavs(unless we use in the S&T for Bosh)
Gerald Wallace/ Anthony Parker(from 09 contract)
Lebron James/ Mike Miller
Chris Bosh/ Matt Barnes(from 09 contract)/Darnell Jackson/ 2010 1st rd pick we buy
Shaq Oneal/ Anderson Varajao
I think that is a killer 2010 lineup we wouldnt be able to do with the roster we currently havw with our 2009 lineup.
