i understand that sheed is celt's primary concern in the free agency. However, if that backfires, i believe the celtics should attempt for AK-47 because:

1) he plays well offensively and defensively, a fine replacement for james posey.

2) jerry sloan hates the guy, thus, gives AK bad minutes.

What i did not include is the financial situation of this proposition, but this is worth looking into.

AK47 is a player I have liked and had an eye on for a long time. I think he could be a great fit for us and I think he is only playing to a fraction of his ability in Utah. All that said he simply makes to much money. For once we are in a place where we don't have a bad contract to trade. If we still had a Theo or Wally on the books, I would say lets consider a deal but the fact is we don't. The only way we could get him, short of trading Ray or Paul or KG, would be if he were to get bought out.

Maybe when he is a free agent he will be worth a look for MLE money but that is 2 years away.

I actually tried to work out a trade for him. I don't think we have the contracts unfortunately. AK will makes 16.4 million next year, the largest contract on the Jazz. If we combine the salaries of TA, Scal, and Giddens, we have about 7 million, which leaves a difference of 9.4 million dollars. We could sign and trade Big Baby, but I don't think the Jazz would be interested in paying him nearly enough to make the trade work. With our contract situations, the only trades that work for AK involve one of the big 3 or Perk.

then i hope celts can convince sheed to green, otherwise banner 18 gonna happen most likely 2011 (although i have hopes for banner 18 this upcoming season). i would love DA to sign some nice free agents of 2010, maybe chris bosh? yao ( just kidding)? rudy gay (i am a uconn guy)?
