Rasheed Pitch Meeting

Post#1 » by Jimmy103 » Mon Jul 6, 2009 4:26 am

Is there any possibility that Rondo takes offense/it's a sign that he's on the block this summer that it was Pierce, KG, and Allen who went to the meeting. Rondo seemed to have become a "face of the franchise" type of guy. Perhaps it just has to do with the Big 3 having a personal relationship with Sheed compared to Rondo being pretty young?

Paul. KG, and Ray are the established veterans.

By age and by experience, it was only natural for them to be the ones to appear.

And, as you said, they have a rapport with Sheed. Rondo is still the youngin' even though he's one of the best pg's in the league.

Yeah, I didn't look at it that way. I took it as you brought along your leaders, the top veteran players on the team to speak also on behave of the franchise and to speak to R. Wallace on a peer-to-peer level. Why would it bother Rondo? You don't need to bring the entire roster of Celtic players for Wallace to get the message. I mean you don't want to over do it. You don't want to suffocate the man. He'll have time to get reacquainted with Rondo in due time.

Perk is the one I really worry, remember he took offense to what Sheed said about the C's not being able to win because they didn't have a PG and C! Then I remembered he also hated had a thing with KG and now look at them! I guess as long as its for the betterment of the team!

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as players maintain a level of respect for one another. It's water under the bridge I would think. You can't hold a grudge when he's now your teammate and there's the bigger picture. I believe that this season will be a sequel to two seasons ago. Everyone will refocus themselves and remain focused until they've reached the NBA Finals again.

"Ubuntu!" the Celtics shout as they break their huddle after practice. Coach Doc Rivers says he chose the chant over the typical "1, 2, 3, Celtics!" after reading about Bishop Desmond Tutu over the summer. "Ubuntu," from the African Bantu language, stresses collective success over individual achievement.
