Utah Jazz/McGrady

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sun Jul 5, 2009 4:35 pm

So, what do you think of this wiretap headline that the Jazz were interested in a Kirilenko/McGrady swap at one point?

It says that Utah is no longer interested due to McGrady's health status and contract situation. The way I'm reading this is that Utah was not expecting both Okur and Boozer to stay for their final season, and now they are in a bit of a cash crunch and limited. They were interested in McGrady, not because of the expiring (primarily), but rather because of the insurance covering him until he's back on the court. They looked at him and realized that would probably be sooner, rather than later (if at all), so it was no longer the immediate financial help they had hoped it would be.

that's my tin foil hat take on it, anyway. :)

It's great, as long as you don't mind having the most offensively inept wings in the league.

No way the Rockets take on AK's contract.

Chris Bosh is hell of overrated. I live in Toronto, have been watching him since the day he drafted. The thing I hate him most is that he doesn't have that much low-post move. When there is down to the scratch in the 4th quarter, he will just set up none stop jumper, and he will miss most of them. His defense is not really that bad, but he could be easily disappear in the 4th quarter. I rather have Louis Socla stay in H-town than watch Chris Paul pathetic play.

It's a total piece of BS. I guess the Jazz Management were living in caves and didn't know that McGrady has a huge contract that's expiring and that he was hurt and underwent microfracture surgery.

For the next 6-8 months every writer covering a team w/a bad contract is going to write the same BS story on how that team was/is/will be talking w/the Rockets about trading that pos contract for McGrady. It writes itself, gets the local fans stirred up and gains attention for the writer/paper/blog. They will be written with all the insight of a 12 yr-old discovering ESPN's trade machine for the first time.

I hate AK's game, like everybody else.

HOWEVAH...

Rox ain't going anywhere fast for a couple of years. We all know that. So how cool would it be to have the "All-Bad Haircut Team"?? (It'd be something to talk about, if nothing else.)

PG: Rubio / Pick a white guy
SG: Von Wafer
SF: AK47 / RonRon, (in the league's 1st "Re-sign and Un-trade" deal.)
PF: Chris Anderson / Verejao (sp?)
C: Any Lopez Brother / Noah

Wouldn't be a playoff team, but they'd sure as hell have their own reality show on Bravo.

Just a thought.

Ribalding - we've got to get Moochie Norris back for that squad!
