That does seem like a good SL team. Fazekas numbers look kinda respectable. And Hudson was a monster in college. Its not so clear cut that Bill and Giddens will dominate.. How many of those guys do you think will make our roster?
I personally think that Pruitt is in trouble. He is the one that has to show something.

Posted this in the other thread, but I'll add it here...
I like Sweetney a lot...
The guy was a VERY VERY good college player.
Drafted in the lotto.
In his first 4 seasons he logged 3600 NBA minutes with very respectable numbers.
All good things that point towards at least a long career as a good role-player. But he hasn't done anything (as far as I can tell) for the last 2 years. Does anyone know what happened? Did he eat himself out of the league? Did he get hurt? Was he just that much of a jerk?
I also like Fazekas. Guys has put up numbers when and wherever he has gotten PT. I think he will be a better version of Matt Bonner if given a chance. That is a pretty good player.

Apparently nobody does.
In the two years since his contract expired, Sweetney has not been heard from. He signed with no other teams, not in the NBA or any other league, and has not had any reported workouts. He hasn't played in any summer league, hadn't tried to join the D-League, hadn't been heard from in any fluff pieces in any newspapers, or appeared anywhere at all. Last season, Sam Smith reported that not even the NBA Player's Association could get into contact with him.
The only reported Sweetney sighting in the two years hence was in a Boston Globe article that mentioned how Sweetney was in the crowd at Bulls vs Celtics game 7 last month. That was it. Believe me, I've been looking for me. But there wasn't any.

He must have cold-called the Celts and told him he'd lost a bunch of weight. The guy had skills, that's for sure. Whether he's still got 'em, who knows.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
That's weird, I'm starting to like this guy after reading it though. Sounds like a character. It'll be interesting to see what kind of shape he shows up in.

Take it from someone who's seen plenty of the Sweets.
Danny did the guy a favor to give him a summer league contract.
If Danny actually thinks Sweetney can make the team,
it's time to look for a new GM.
However, signing Sweetney for the summer
must be a gift to someone who's helped Danny in the past,
by giving the kid a part time job for a few weeks.
Yet, undersized Mikey Sweetney, who never saw an
All You Can Eat Buffet Bar he couldn't demolish,
will destroy the summer league competition this summer.
Get ready for lots of posts about how awesome little Mickey is.
Until the man with a center game in a 6' 7.25" pre-draft w/o shoes frame
tries to defend pivot men who will abuse him at will.
Sweetney is a center in an undersized PF body, and he is not athletic.
On another thought entirely,
but related to Danny,
if Danny can't close a deal with a sign & trade this summer,
or at least exchange some players for picks;
that will loudly suggest an inept "negotiating" ability
now that he doesn't have Kevin McHale on the other end of the phone
or Seattle "dumping" Ray Allen.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
Game tonight vs Utah. 7:00 PM.
Won't watch a lick of pre-season games, but I love the summer league. Good to see we have a few young guns in it this year. Excited about Lester. also excited to read the 6 pages of excitement after Bobby Swift puts up 4. 2. 0.

Jammer you have no idea what your talking about. If Mike Sweetney is healthy (mentally and physically) he will be a major player off our bench THIS year. IF HE IS, and I have no idea. Sweetney is BBD (little slower of foot),(but much better defender). He would be a STEAL at this point if he's healthy. I watched the guy play every single game at G-Town (I'm an alum).

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
OT: but I mentioned earlier about Nik Caner_medley. I'm sure at least those of you from Maine know who he is.
If anyone is interested, he is playing for the LA Clippers in the Summer League. Starting alongside Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon, and putting up impressive numbers.
12 pts on 3-5 FG, 1-1 3pt FG, 5-6 FT
11 boards
I would kill to see him wear a C's uniform. He's a vet. now. Maybe not by NBA standards, but he has won an MVP award in a solid league in Spain. And we have seen many other successful transitions from college to foreign countries then back to the NBA. He is a 6'8, 240 lbs, combo forward, mostly a 3 in the NBA but capable of playing the 4 in a small lineup. He has very good athleticism to make it as well, even by NBA standards.
If LA doesn't sign him for themselves and if we make a trade like a 3 for 1 and left us with extra roster spaces, it would be great to bring NCM back home.
