Don't really understand what Detroit is going for with Gordon, Charlie V. and Boozer. Not much defense out of those guys and none seem to possess that natural leadership ability. Maybe they're hoping they can put a bunch of talented guys together and look for leadership from their coach? Avery seems like the type who might be able to fill that role but that team needs some leaders and defenders. Not in love with what they're doing at all.

They're putting Boozer at center then?

Kind of expected.
Boozer makes them more of a complete team, but who is playing defense besides Prince there?

I don't really like Avery, but then again I don't like half the coaches in the league. He does have that ridiculous winning pct though, so people will atleast pay attention to em off the bat.

Stuckey
Gordon
Prince
Villanueva
Boozer
Doesn't exactly scream contender.

They could battle for a 4 seed with Atlanta, Washington, Chicago and Miami..

Are they trying to become a running team? Because I don't understand how Boozer can play center.

Yeah, is that really how you wanted to come out of a summer where you had cap space though? They were shooting for this offseason for a while, and they come away wiith 3 fringe all-stars who don't even think about defense.

Rip for Boozer makes a ton of sense for both teams involved. If Boozer doesn't work out so well in Detroit, they will at least have cap room next offseason.

Kwame will play center for them, not Boozer. I'd be willing to bet the farm on that. The diea being that they can put 4 guys around him who have offense, so all Brown needs to do is defend and rebound, which he can actually do OK.

That makes sense, so that means Prince is off the bench. Because I can't picture them having Villanueva come off it after the big contract they just gave him.

would they be able to move Prince to Portland for a big and Outlaw?
I think at this point it would make sense to both teams

I can't see Portland doing a deal like that. They could probably get Dampier and filler from Dallas.

They might trade Prince and attempt to play CV at SF

[Center in Prince Deal]
Boozer
CV
Gordon [Guards PGs]
Stuckey [Guards SG]

6th man: [player in Prince Deal]

CV is coming off the bench. No other explanation. They can't start him and Booz, they would get killed inside. He'll still get big mins tho as a super sub.
But they need a defensive C better than Kwame, who's just awful.
As for D, Rip wasn't much of a defender either.

I don't think Dumars has played this very well at all. They're going to be the Washington Wizards II.

am I the only one who thinks they need a pg ?? I know they have Stuckey but i think of him as a poor mans Dwayne Wade and is better suited as a 2guard.

I don't know, that seems like a lot of money to pay someone to come off the bench. I think he'll at least start at small forward.

Well, Tayshaun makes even more money, so I'm going with him as the starter.

That's true, I didn't realize he was getting paid so much. I don't know why they gave Villanueva so much he doesn't seem tough enough to play power forward or quick enough to play small forward.

Does this mean that Ronnie Brewer will slide over to the small forward, with Kirilenko coming of the bench?
