Marc Rzepczynski to start tomorrow

Apparently his name is pronounced "Zep-chin-ski". I know nothing about him besides those stats. He's only started two games for Vegas, but he was pretty good for New Hampshire.
Pedro is looking more and more attractive.

He can't be any worse than Burres or Mills, can he?

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

I think we've played the most pitchers this season by far.
And I think it's not even close. OTOH Rzepczynski FTW!

He's a big time K/ground ball pitcher. You'd think he'd be the type of guy to succeed with the Jays defense behind him. Some control problems, though.

Wonder why they haven't looked at Castro yet. He's fallen off lately but he was amazing early on, plus he has MLB experience.

Agreed; I think he has the chance to be very good, but the Rays aren't exactly the optimal opponent...they take a tonne of walks, crush left-handed pitching, and the game will be played on FieldTurf. Plus the whole 'first ML start' thing. I'm expecting a less-than-stellar effort, but he could end up a better major-leaguer than Cecil.

**** your asterisk.

Yeah, wtf is wrong with Cecil anyway? Ever since he was demoted and re-called, he's been a disaster. I know it's waaay too early to write him off, but for a guy who has the talent to be a fix in the top of our rotation in the coming years, he has not impressed. Making too many mistakes with his fastball and the inability to locate his off-speed stuff for a strike has hitters feasting.

Re: Marc Rzepczynski to start tomorrow
I was hoping for an answer somewhere along the lines of discussing reasons for his command issues, but if age is that reason, then sure. He still really should never have been brought up this year, I understand that. But he's thrown a few solid outings this year that were pretty impressive, just wondering what happened to that.
In his last outing, Cito apparently paid him a mound visit to tell him to pick up the pace, but he didn't and kept going at a snail's pace and overthinking, consquently missing his spots and getting rocked. It's probably because I'm comparing him to my man Rick, who maintains the composure of a seasoned vet, which I expect from Cecil (who is pegged to be better, and could be). Either way, it's a minor gripe at best, and really shouldn't be concerning with his age, you're right. I just thought maybe someone had some idea as to why his command has been poor since being re-called, in a what-pitches-to-use-and-when type thing. That's all.

That he threw a few good outings the first time around probably doesn't mean that he had something then lost it. Lots of pitchers have a great first few outings, many of whom turn out to be bad pitchers.
Which is to say that, personally, I would say his good looking outings the first time around came more from the opposing teams lack of a book on him (which is what inferior pitchers get hot starts to their career from) than to his own readiness. Which is why I answered your question with his age.

He started to face some really good offensive teams. It can make all the difference.

Re: Marc Rzepczynski to start tomorrow
I think Zep's stuff is just about as good as Cecil's. His control is an issue, but when you see the movement on his pitches, it's understandable. Somebody that can get hitters to ground out and get K's as well is going to be very successful. Very few pitchers have the ability to do this.
Cecil just looks to have lost confidence in himself. It's a bit disappointing he has an off year in his development, but not surprising either. It tends to happen when you rush a prospect up out of necessity.
I think Purcey should get a chance to come back up again soon. He's done pretty well back in Las Vegas and deserves another shot.
