-Giddens looked good. Couldn`t make a shot but played well.
-Walker played OK. He just makes too many stupid mistakes on defense. He and JR are a level above everybody else...
-Hudson started poorly but played well after. Very dynamic on defense and his shot looks great. I think he will make the team over Pruitt.
-Pruitt didn`t stand out. Made a few horrible passes.
-Swift looked extremely slow footed. His lateral quickness is horrible. But SL is terrible for big guys.
-Sweetney needs to lose 30 pounds.
-Rogers looked really smooth. I would like to see more from him.
-Lofton won`t make it in the NBA. He is just too small and weak.
-Fazekas is also extremely slow and his shot looks weird.

Can I get a shout out to "15th overall" on realgm? consider it
redemption for having me sit through this display of "competition."

And what the hell else is there to do?

PS Thanks to Smoltz I cant sit down now.

Surprised JR was 4 for 10, felt like he played better than that. But I came away from that game with a much better feeling for his future. That was a very small sample size though. I'll be at work during tomorrow's game. Hope to catch a bit though.

I really appreciated the effort I saw out there. Sure, it's summer league but sometimes these things just end up as a glorified track meet with little defense.

Someone mentioned a skinny Rodney Rogers vibe from Kevin Rogers and I would second that. Maybe not as athletic or brawny but a similar vibe.

I don't know why but Bryan Mullins really jumped out at me. He doesn't appear quick or even remotely athletic but he always seemed to be there on a hard double-down, closing out on backside help and just being a pest. I was really impressed (not necessarily NBA-impressed, mind you, but impressed nonetheless.)

Once Luther Hudson settled down, he reminded me of the good Marcus Banks that came off the bench in his 2nd year.

I guess I would be in the minority but I thought Bob Swift looked decent. He seemed a bit weak on the ball but he altered a ton of shots. If he can strengthen his base, he is perfectly suitable as a 3rd center.

Just one game but I liked what I saw, all things considered. Hopefully as the weak progresses, we will all get a bit better read on these guys.

And a thank you to the basketball gods for a little hoop extravaganza in early July. With all the rain lately, I have been chomping at the bit for some basketball.

I pretty much agree with you...I compared Kevin to Rodney Rogers. As soon as I saw his shot I though of Rodney. I tried to find his pre-draft measurements but it looks like they don`t exist. I also liked Mullins. I think he will have a nice career in Europe...

We will see how we do in the 2nd game...
