Is Big Baby an option in Atlanta?

I would like to see him on our frontline. I was impressed with him last year and he quite possibly would work well with Zaza and Horford in the post.
We need an enforcer type to back up our frontline and the numbers he would be looking for should fit our budget. That is of course, if we clear ourselves of one or 2 people.

The frontline definitely needs help. Does it cost us Marvin, Flip and Chills' rights? Might be worth it to me.

Please don't devalue Marvin Williams like this. Maybe Marvin for BB and Philly's first round pick in 2010.

Childress' rights and Flip maybe, but it would not necessary cost us Marvin.

And I am not sure Davis is what we need. He brings more on offense than defense, and as long as we have Woodson, we could get more from a defensive big than an offensive one.

I'm not interested in Big Baby at all. While he definitely stepped it up when needed in the playoffs, he shows some classic signs of a guy who might cash in and never produce at a high level again. I cite the history of weight issues, his low PER in the regular season, and the incidents of being chewed out by KG for not hustling. We don't have a demonstrative vet like KG to ride him into the correct behaviors.

I feel much better about Leon Powe returning to form after injury or Ike Diogu breaking out than Glen Davis getting paid and staying hungry.

I usually agree with you evil, but in this case, I think Big Baby is an X-factor for his team. He is a bit short, but makes up for it in hustle and now knows what it takes to perform at a high level.
At the minimum, you offer him to get Boston to match and disrupt their salary issues a bit. That in itself might allow Powe to become available.
But for today, I could trial BB at small forward and see how he handles facing the basket. I think he has legit success coming his way and is looking for a bigger payday down the road. From what he showed me in Garnett's absence, I would think Boston would be focusing on him more than bringing in a perimeter post player like Rasheed.

Big Baby would be nice to have when Lebron and others start running through the middle of our defense again next season.

He had a good April and run in the playoffs,but he's not that strong of a rebounder and Celtics fans were really down on him during most of the regular season. You also have to worry about him getting out of shape once he gets a pay raise similar to Jackie Manuel.

FYI, BOS declined to offer Powe the QO. He is unrestricted...
