Pierce throwin angry money around in Vegas

Post#1 » by Dirty Water » Tue Jul 7, 2009 4:06 pm

Saw this article on yahoo:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Don-t-question-Paul-Pierce-while-he-s-playing-cr?urn=nba,174648

I watch him play craps for a few minutes and when a lull in the action occurs, I say, 'I thought you were supposed to be wooing 'Sheed.' The Truth didn't take too kindly to my statement. He then says, 'Oh man, can't I get any privacy! Shouldn’t you be looking for girls.' I then tell him I'm married and Pierce then says to me, 'Then why are you in Vegas?' My response is I'm here on business working with Doyle Brunson for the WSOP Main Event. He loses his roll of the dice and slams his hand down on the craps table as hard as he can. I'm not sure if I should feel guilty, not give a crap, or run as fast as I can.

I decide to stay for another minute. He mutters some more stuff under his breath and then offers to buy shots for me since I'm not chasing women. I politely decline and head back up to my room ...

Can't blame Pierce. He's just enjoying his offseason. Just another annoying tourist/fan. Right?

Uh, unless you don't drink, I would say the correct response is to accept the invite to have shots with Pierce.

Seems kind of obvious, no?

thats as polite of a sonning as you can get

reminds mang of the time she was at Space Odyessy 2001 and these college kids ain't no what to do. "here are some singles. see siiiinnnggglleeess. mang give to you to give to choochoo. you put it here. see? now you try. good boy!"

Aren't there free drinks if you're playing on a table? Never been to Vegas but I know it's like that in AC or Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun.

And yeah, what a moron for turning down drinks with Paul Pierce. Who would turn that down? Obviously part of this story is a fabrication - just my guess.

Yeah. If you read the article beforehand he said he was drinking pretty heavily before the encounter.

LOVE the avatar btw. :)

What a waste of time... I blame you guys for making me read that crap. But I agree with the general sentiment that the writer is a douche.

Thats what I was thinking. Who wouldn't want to say they drank with a star NBA player?

that was also my first thought. Sense I moved from CT, man do I miss the Sun. Free drinks, free concerts with washed up stars from the 60s 70s and 80s.

ahhhhh..... I see. Thanks for the heads up mangina

I'm not up on proper gambling/boozing/womanizing etiquette while with famous sports figures.

If I see Pierce in a similar situation, I'll now know to say, "Let me buy YOU a shot, Son, then you can go run along and work on your free throws."

This article is lame as hell. This guy is a loser. He just heckles him, turns down a drink from a man losing on the table... what a dink.

I can recall the time when I was playing black jack at Palms casino when Mark Cuban came on my table since it was empty and you couldnt believe the Dbags that decided to come up and run there mouths about what a bad owner he is and how his team will never win a title etc B.S.
Its sad to see how ignorant people get specially when these guys are out and about minding their own buisness and enjoy there time away from their work.
It got so bad that they actually had to call security and close off the table and wouldnt allow anybody to come on the table but me my girl and Mark.
I loved it but it was sort of funny, I was playing 100 to 200 dollars hand while he was playing 1k to 5k dollar hands, I know at one point when we got a bad run I lost 2k and he was probalby down 60k but then after a couple of good shuffles by me we made a run for it and I came up my 2k and 6500.00 and I recall him cashing out at 160k.
But I agree with Paul since your out there enjoying your time off but all these Dbags comeup and talk crap on you and it really sucks when your not winning cause your mad that you are losing and at the same time people are irritating you with their supidity.
