Boozer for Perkins. Realistic?

Post#1 » by DelaneyRudd » Wed Jul 8, 2009 5:14 am

Would a deal revolving around name dropper Boston and Utah revolving around Kedrick Perkins work? I know Boston is thin up front, but Perkins is a 6'10 role player. Could you get better value than an all-star like Boozer? A Sheed, Booz, KG lineup could make up for a lack of inches while Perkins would be a Sloan guy who does everything Ostertag was supposed to do. I am sure it's been discussed and either KOC or Danny Boy laughed it off. Not sure which.

This deal actually makes quite a bit of sense. Because KG is such a defensive monster, they could make it work on D with Boozer guarding power Centers and KG guarding long/quick guys while cleaning up Booze's mistakes. It would make them a little worse defensively, but the offensive and rebounding rewards would be awesome. It would take them from being a defensive juggernaut to an offensive one. I think it makes them better.

As for us, it solves our problem with defensive presence in the paint. The salaries would have to be matched, but I like the idea.

That would be classic. The Jazz turned down a chance to get Al Jefferson for Boozer, and eventually turn him into Kendrick Perkins.

why the hell would we give boozer up for perkins? i'd rather see him walk then see a front line of sheed/booz/kg, that's almost as unfair as the gasol trade.
