Re: Nuggets-Nets Proposal
Don't think this will happen. I don't think the Nugs FO is high on Najera or want him back. Balkman gives same hustle but is much better (just doesn't have the range Najera sometimes has). Switch Najera for Lee and I would be happy

If I'm not mistaken, Drooling is a good defender at SG and PG? How about a counter of Hunter for just Drooling?

Re: Nuggets-Nets Proposal
The length of Najera's deal just kills this for the Nuggets.

Re: Nuggets-Nets Proposal
do NOT want Najera back.
we've almost got Kleiza out the door, that only leaves Carter and we'll finally be rid of Karl's love crew.

I would personally take Balkman over all 3 of those players so no.
unless the Nets send us an unprotected 1st.

Re: Nuggets-Nets Proposal
There is no one on the Nets that I would be interested in that they would be willing to give up. Sure, I would love a Lee, Lopez (especially), Harris (though he is quite redundant), or even take a flier out on Yi, but New Jersey isn't going to part with any of those pieces without significant pieces in return. What is left is a group of players I am not too sure would be anything besides a lateral movement for us.
If Ryan Anderson was still in NJ, I would think about trading Hunter's Expiring + Balkman for him, but the second he went South, so did any realistic trade in my mind between Denver and New Jersey.

Re: Nuggets-Nets Proposal
EH I would love that trade, Williams is J.R. Smith in the head but he got talent and one thing he can do for sure is block shots.
Najera's has 3 more years on his contract but the last two is not guaranteed, Dooling has 2 more years but the last one is not guaranteed, at least from what I saw here:
http://www.storytellerscontracts.info/r ... laries.htm
And then Williams has one more year before team option in 2010 Summer. This means if he doesn't work out, we can just let him go.
It's inexpensive, we let go a big man who never sees the floor (Hunter), another decent rotation player who never sees the floor (Balkman) and a rook (Weems). Now I'd do this trade in an instant to get Najera... I love that hustle and three pt shooting he provided for us in his last season with us... then you're getting Williams and Dooling, a young player with potential and a veteran that will be terrific with the roles clearly defined to them.

Can Najera still play? If I remember he was a defender/hustler 3/4 off the bench? If he can, I'd do this trade, just to add some rotation guys in here and give us more depth. His contract is pretty crappy though. D:

Najera was only able to play 27 games last year as he fought through injuries. So no I would not say he could still play, especially when considering his contract, which is fully guaranteed this year, and guaranteed for $2.5 and $2.25 the last two year, or if he actually plays $3.0 and 2.75 million the last two years. If the Nuggets would have matched Najera's deal he would have never left, now I see no reason for them to take the guy.
