Quisy still in the fold?
Any of you that watched tonight's summer league game may have seen that Marquis Daniels was sitting with Larry Bird watching the game. Doesn't seem like something a guy who doesn't plan on being with the team would do. Maybe we're not going after Jones, Carney, or Head after all. Maybe the plan is to bring Quisy back at a much lower pay rate than last year. I'd be fine with that. What do you guys think?

yeah that was really really strange...
Once they have that golden shining moment and it comes to them in a dream or whatever and they understand that, that's when this team and this franchise will go to another level from where it was when I was here.

I think he works out in Orlando. There's a chance he comes back, but personally, I'd rather move on to someone else and see a fresh new face.

Re: Quisy still in the fold?
I would rather have Quisy back because I think he's better than all of the options we could bring in. He's a better offensive player than all of those guys, better rebounder than all of them, better passer, and is probably only worse than Jones on the defensive end.

Re: Quisy still in the fold?
He would be nice to have back, just for the slashing, and finishing inside, as well as the defense, but I would rather see Dahntay Jones in a Pacers uniform. I wouldn't be surprised if that means he's coming back, but maybe if it's a low enough deal we can bring in Jones still?

Re: Quisy still in the fold?
If Daniels is interested in signing a one or two year deal for something closer to the minimum than the MLE, I think we'd have to do it. That's affordable enough for a pretty savvy veteran.
I'd take Daniels over most everybody but Dahntay Jones is a close 2nd type guy.

What's the Gerald Green situation of late? He did some growing up last season.

great question...the guy oozes athleticism...I think in our slashing, run and gun offense he could shine, and I know his basketball IQ would raise under Larry and the rest of the crew...I'd definitely support the gamble for this kid

Re: Quisy still in the fold?
Let's sign Dahntay Jones first, then worry about these other two. Yes, Green would be a nice addition. He can score the ball, shoot the three especially well, and play defense. Green would also just bring that excitement that the Pacers need. As for Quisy, he would be nice to have for his scoring in the lane, and his defense.

So I'm hoping that Jack get the mle. not the full but still. and mcroberts will get part of the bi annual exception. so that means all we can offer is the 2 mill trade exception we got from Toronto.

Re: Quisy still in the fold?
We own the bird rights on Jack and the early bird rights on McRoberts. We don't need to use the bi annual or Mid level exceptions to re-sign them. However, we can likely only re-sign them, and then use the full MLE worth of cash to sign all of the other free agents to fill out our roster.

Agree. Since Daniels has been with the team for three years, in O'Brien's system for two, he has alot of advantages over the others on the list. Most importantly we need someone who can be the third wing and play significant minutes for the first half of the season. Daniels has shown he can be effective in that role. The only question I have is can he stay healthy that long.
Thereafter, when Dunleavy returns that role could shrink significantly or we might play small more often.
