Please, no. AK is garbage and complains constantly about his role, even as a starter. He would be an awful fit with Rondo as well. And if he started, Pierce has to slide out of position down to SG, or we have to start the inexperienced CJ Miles? NO!

Re: Celtics interested in CJ Miles
I was trolling through Celticsblog, and there are a whole bunch of people over there who feel that Bill Walker or JR Giddens could do what this kid does. What a joke that is. If they had any chops, whatsoever, we would have wheeled them out this past spring, considering what Marbs and House were doing. It's a bad joke.
Of course Walker or Giddens "could" do what this kid does. He starts but he only plays 22.5 mpg which means he doesn't finish. He shoots 3's and doesn't play any defense. He fell flat on his face in the postseason, he was totally ineffective. What makes him different than Marbury? Walker and Giddens haven't gotten the chance to fall flat on their face yet.
Please stop talking about Barnes like he is Posey. Barnes is like Wally with a shaky jumper.

Re: Celtics interested in CJ Miles
CJ Miles is a nice pickup for the long-term but he is definitely NOT the answer to our needs next season.
He will take another year or two of seasoning, which would be nice if he reaches his potential he could replace Ray down the road.
I don't know what's so crazy about JR or Walker being able to do what CJ Miles did. Miles is a better long-range shooter but is terrible at just about any other aspect of the game. He has the potential to be a good all-around player but so does Giddens or Walker. Potential is potential.
In any case, if we get Miles we would still need a quality backup 3 for next season.

Well it really comes down to giving guys the opportunity to fail and overcome. Look at Glen Davis' season. He was downright atrocious for much of the first two months of the season. He was steady taking the mid-range shot and couldn't get it to fall. He couldn't finish inside and all he had going for him was decent positional defense and hustle. By the end of the year he was sticking daggers from mid-range in the waning moments against the Magic.
Giddens and Walker should be given a chance this season. They're both capable athletes with some plus skills. The Celtics should definitely look to get a solid vet in at the wing like Hill, not Barnes who is freakin' terrible, but a solid veteran. Then give these guys, along with Tony Allen, the chance to earn the 4th wing spot. At least by using them during the regular season you can help to preserve Ray and Paul's legs for the Playoffs.

I don't think Giddens would have any trouble surpassing Miles' defense, rebounding, assists, and steals. Outside shooting? Miles certainly has the edge. But Giddens is a more complete player and I think if we need scoring Walker is a better pure scorer.
That said, I think Doc won't use JR or Walker again this year, so if trading for Miles means Doc will actually play him, it could be worth it. Why hold onto two guys he won't play when you can ship them out for one of basically the same talent/upside that he will? It sounds dumb but Doc has seen that Miles is 'battle tested' and is far more likely to play him, despite Giddens and Walker having similar talent levels.
