I forgot to mention, Welcome to the Club!!! I'm a huge Suns fan, but I want Kerr to be fire yesterday. I could be wrong and it wont be the first time, but this guy is so out of his element. Kerr needs to go back to the TNT broadcast and give his " Kerr thoughts" . What a joke! www.firestevekerr.com

I don't think Kerr's any great shakes, but let's be honest - the problem starts at the top. Yeah, maybe if Kerr was replaced with a better negotiator we would still have a 2010 pick, but either way, KT gets moved for nothing, Rondo/Sergio/Rudy get sold, etc. Firing Kerr won't really help anything.

Where are the Suns fans who uses their brains as opposed to just their hearts?

If you are Sarver....

You have the option to do nothing and there's a good chance Suns make playoffs....

OR

You sacrifice cap flexibility in the future, pay $5 Million of your own money to obtain some "help" through trades.... and still just be good enough to be just a first round elimination... at best.

Spurs: Duncan/McDyess/Jefferson/Ginobili/Parker
Lakers: Gasol/Odom/Artest/Bryant/Fisher
Celtics: Wallace/Garnett/Pierce/Allen/Rondo
Cavs: O'Neal/Varejao/James/Williams/West
Magic: Howard/Lewis/Pietrus/Carter/Nelson
Nuggets: Nene/Martin/Anthony/Smith/Billups
Mavericks: Gortat/Nowitski/Marion/Howard/Kidd/Terry

You can add Chandler to the Suns... and spend another $10 Million dollars over the cap.. and Suns will NOT beat any of those teams in a series.

Why risk cap flexibility? Why lose cap space for the same results? Why pay $5 Million of his own money to get the same results..... first round elimination!

Some fans here are just bored it seems... you have to realize the Suns will require a BLOCKBUSTER trade along with keeping Nash, Stoudemire.... to be on the same level with those teams.. and even then... DEFENSE still sucks.... so 70% chance still of losing...

THINK whats going on league wide... study your opponents.... WHY? would the SUNS spend BIG for no return??

Its not your money... and thank goodness.... most of you guys would be worse GMs and owners... than Suns current... and thats not good at all..

The Suns are done...its pretty much partial rebuild mode... due to the injuries of other stars, Suns have a good chance of making 7th or 8th spot with the current lineup. And thats Sarver/Kerr's projection. Full rebuild should only occur if the Suns have 2010 pick, but they dont... so they go partial... its logical... it makes sense.

maybe you should consult with IHG. everyone in this forum believes everything he says. I can't wait for the next thread that says "IHG says blah blah blah blah". stupid stuff man.

Sounds like were going to try and compete by keeping the same players we had last year

We should either attempt to sign a key free agent or blow it up because the worse thing to do is delay the inevitable which is the rebuilding process that will need to take place.

I agree with you completely on all counts except one: The Rockets didn't get better, they just lost Yao for the year, and they swapped Artest for Ariza. Even if you count Artest/Ariza as a wash, which is debatable on both sides, losing Yao makes them much worse...

Still, I am very frustrated with the Suns because they are spending all this time trying to save money and sign players like Grant Hill and extending Steve Nash, they are missing out on all the good players... It's effing terrible!

If we build off this team we have now, we can get into the playoffs. But I guarantee we're not making it past 2nd round. It may be time to blow it up.

I agree we have no chance to contend with one move however with various moves we could. I think partially rebuilding is a mistake. Either contend or rebuild because now they're just half assing both of those aspects.

The 'Kant with the goods.

No point in doing anything but trying to make the playoffs. Add a couple of cheap FA's and play ball.

I said this weeks ago... tell both Nash and Stat that contract negotiations will begin at the end of the season, now go out and earn your paychecks and STFU.

Actually, the delays in doing nothing will be beneficial as one by one, the more sought after FAs are being signed, leaving a semi talented pool of players who should be willing to play for a discounted price for 1 season, much like Barnes last yr.

No point in tying any money up long term and we have until Feb '10 to make any trades. Example....If a contender has PG injuries, who better than Nash to rent for the remainder? It would be nice to make a deal with a little leverage for a change.

Lets just be content with adding Clark, Frye, another big FA. Clark replaces Hill, Frye/Lopez will step in for Shaq. Barnes is insignificant.

Rebuilding is not easy... and to be honest, I have seen very few ideas about a blowing it up that allow for significant improvement.... and Frankly, have ZERO faith in Kerr-plunk to do it.

I've come around to your point of view in the last while, Cash. i don't think Kerr is any shakes as a GM but It;s only fair to note that he's operating under some horrible conditions, from what we can surmise.
Certainly the KT dump was horrible but who knows what Kerr was told to do - maybe Sarver said "Do it NOW"
Who knows - all i can think is that Kerr is in no way as stupid as some of these moves would make him seem. So if he's not actually (Please Use More Appropriate Word), there's another reason. And I think the reason is Sarver.

Sarver is going to be lumped in with Heisley and Sterling, and he deserves to be.

What are the odds that Sarver sells this team in the near future??????? I can only pray that he does.

I think we should rebuild. Rebuilding is a more viable option than trying to contend in the Western Conference. The top teams are loaded.

Rebuilding through the draft, FA and trades is the best option we have IMO. (other than a different ownership of course. Sarver has influenced this team's win totals. He is all saving money as evident from the past and that does not translate to success).
