Good Stuff: Chandler Info

Post#1 » by TheMan44 » Thu Jul 9, 2009 3:56 am

I just registered, but am a long time reader of this forum. Those readers of ASFN may also recognize my name as I've had quite the history there.

In any case, I do have a connection into Suns happenings - although NOT from a direct front office source. Let's just say that I'm a trainer and know many trainers in this country, including many in the professional level. Let's leave it at that, but you know where I'm getting at.

I don't know if you guys have already discussed this or if it's been thrown out there, but know this: The Suns' Chandler deal is definitely in Suns hands. They can have Chandler anytime they want as Hornets really want Ben Wallace's contract and know Chandler is shot up. Youngster Hilton Armstrong, who has been playing and working out with Blake Griffin and his trainer in San Fransisco, CA, appears to be the starting center for the Hornets - or at least can snag it up at one point or another. Hornets feel Armstrong's workouts are progressing so well that he is making Chandler look like an old man because he does not have lateral explosiveness he once did.

Also know this: Suns will NOT make the deal whatsoever. After thought and evaluation, medical personnel believe Chandler is indeed damaged goods. As mentioned above, doesn't seem to have the same lateral/medial explosiveness and looks pretty much shot. Don't expect him to be any kind of force and will probably be a backup center for the Hornets if this keeps up.

What is my point: Can you people stop sticking Tyson Chandler in your projected Suns lineup? Not only is the trade not going to happen, but if it did Suns would be slower and less explosive up front. Tyson is not worth the long commitment and Steve Kerr knows exactly what he would get into if he did such terrible deal. You guys would be on him for months.

Good first post. Well then I guess we divert our attention to Dalembert.

Dalembert has a TERRIBLE contract. No thanks.

Gambo was right! He said 'damaged goods' on TC deal on the radio yesterday and said it won't go down...

I'm not too keen on having Lopez start at center. We need somebody who can run and defend the interior.

Yes, without a doubt.

Ask yourself this: Why in the world would Thunder (last year) and Suns (this year) pass up on a 7-foot 26 year old who averaged 12pts/12rebs and was a monster in 2007?

Chandler is essentially being HANDED to anyone who asks for him and there is a reason: All the trainers and personnel have come to a conclusion that he will not be able to continue. He has a large contract and his legs are not going to last longer than his contract. This is why Hilton is pumping up his workouts because he has a great shot at starting center and hence more money.

Steve Kerr is not stupid and he takes the advice of trainers and doctors on all players before any deal. This one is too crazy to do and would harm the Suns not only financially, but would make them slow and injury-prone.

Heck, I've had a trainer tell me that Ben Wallace has a better shot at playing than Tyson. That's how bad it is..

Dalembert is not going to make us a contender, I'd rather have the cap space and have Lopez start.

TX - leave it alone man, it's grating on everyone's nerves. If you see IHG, ignore it if it's bothering you so much

TASTIC, we are closing in on pages and pages of nonsense with these IHG threads and posts. why are you allowing this? it's getting everyone all worked-up. All we are doing now is complaining about how PHX hasn't pulled the trigger on anything and before you know there pops up another "IHG says" thread and people go at it for pages and pages before someone agains says "why isn't phx doing anything". Do you get the trend developing here? It all starts with these "IHG says" bs. why do you allow such threads? really.

Hey, give Big Ben some credit. The guy is not weak. I've seen him in the weight room and he can still shut up anybody. He had injury problems last season and doesn't seem to have heart in the game anymore (my opinion).

With that said, he doesn't have anything structurally detrimental to his game. You already know how superb the Suns trainers are with rehab as they use some cutting edge functional programs to get these guys back on track. Big Ben is no exception. With correct training, he can very well put up about 25 minutes a night at center with no problem.

peeps need to let this whole chandler talk go. He is clearly not gonna be the player he was in 2007 otherwise the hornets would not be shopping him around no matter what his contract is. The suns however do need to pick up a big man, someone like channing frye. Hes young, hes gonna be able to run the floor and most of all he'll give us some defense of presence. Im sure if the suns made a big enough push they could get him. He played high school ball at St.Marys and his college ball at UofA. Hes gotta have some interest in phx

i dont know that - and i dont think suns know either. i do know his injuries are something that can be fixed - at least for 1 season til contract expires, but still a longshot IMO

i still think big ben buyout is coming
