Well, lets see, D'antoni took over a Suns team that went 29-53. One year later D'antoni made some moves, and we were 61-21.
2006 - 54-28
2007 - 61-21
Dantoni helped keep us on top. One of the Best times to be a Suns fan
Kerrs made many many MANY mistakes that include:
1.Trading K.Thomas and 2 unprotected 1st round picks to OKC for a 2008 2nd round pick. This has crippled us for years to come.
2.Selecting Robin Lopez in the draft. Im still wondering if he was confused about the twins. Maybe they pulled a switch-a-roo and Brooke was the one that came out and worked out for us.
3.Trading Marion for Snaq (this trade came out of the blue and threw other teams off, im sure if Marion HAD to be traded, if he spent some more time dealing there would have been other teams that would have loved to have the Matrix, and could have gotten a better deal with players that actually FIT our system).
4.Trading Bell+Diaw for SpeedRacer (2 of our best defenders for 100% offense while hiring a defensive coach)
5.Trading Snaq for expirings AFTER coming out and telling everyone we wouldnt do it for JUST expirings. Oh yeah, and a 2nd round pick that had to be a 2010 pick. Couldnt of even gotten their end-of-first round pick. Am i the only one who believes that Kerr must be one of the worst negotiators in the League? Almost every deal he has made, the Suns have had to take it in the A$$. Opposing GMS have NO RESPECT for Kerr and walk all over him.
6.Letting D'antoni walk. Really? Isnt this the man who's system kept us in the play-offs for years? We never made the finals, but there were abnormal situations surrounding us in the play-offs. Players around the League were RAVING about how they would LOVE to play for D'antoni. All the good players in the League (Olympic team) LOVED D'antoni. He was a players coach. Now he has them wanting to go to NY. Figures.
7. Selecting Porter as a Coach. This team was built for D'antoni. Run-n-Gun all the way. No defense, just 110% Offense. So lets put in Porter and tell the media that we will be playing the same system that D'antoni played, except with the added defense. Thats what he said, not what happened. After hiring Porter the only move he made to this roster that plays no Defense to make it a more Defensive team was drafting Lopez as their defensive specialist. Then lets take away our 2 best defenders for another player that plays no D.
I can probably add more examples but i think ive already wasted to much time responding to your posts.
