but what about Jonathan Sanchez as a closer? He has mid-90s heat, a live fastball, and the ability to be a shutdown pitcher for stretches. His weakness seems to be consistency, and the tendency to get stuck in ruts. What if he just had to focus on one inning a game? I think he might excel a la Joe Nathan.
Brian Wilson definitely racks up the saves in numbers, but we all know he's always a liability out there. I dunno, he might be decent trade bait.

Re: Wilson is sketchy
I'd rather have Romo as a closer.

Hmm I agree with Stanford, Romo would be a better closer haha.

Don't fix what ain't broke. While yesterday's game left me on the edge of my seat, Wilson did end up getting the job done. While he is a Giant, he should remain closer as long as he keeps getting the save. Although I do think he might be good trade bait, as he was an all-star last year and actually has better numbers this year. Romo could be the closer with Affeldt taking the set-up role.

Re: Wilson is sketchy
I would have to say Sanchez over Romo. Sanchez has proven that he can pitch to anyone; as long as he's not pitching past the 5th or 6th inning. Late inning relief or closing games out is his calling.
Let's use Wilson as trade bait for a proven bat.

The guy doesn't throw strikes though.
I'd keep wilson too, but if he went, I'd go with Romo.

Re: Wilson is sketchy
How about this?
DISCLAIMER (Strictly for curiosity's sake)
RP - Jeremy Affledt (LHP)
RP - Sergio Romo (RHP)
Closer - Jonathon Sanchez (LHP)
Affledt and Romo can be the shutdown late inning relief. Howry just isn't doing it for me and Romo can take his spot since they are both right handed throwers.
I highly doubt any of that will happen, only because we're winning games and like bobsaget101 stated: "Don't fix what ain't broken."
