vet min pg options?

Im not an expert but i believe using the bi annual exception on Hill still allows us to sign a player to the vet min. There is no limit to the number of vet min contracts you give as long as it does not exceed roster spots.

But it still means a vet min x2 payout to ownership. damn you luxury tax.

I am not the biggest Eddie House fan, and really am not comfortable with him at the point. But at the same time he is one of the best 3 pt shooters in the NBA and so add to that the fact that he is at all athletic and has decent mid range game, hustles, and can even play some defense means he is well worth his contract and an asset to this team. You don't piss away a guy who can score in this league because he doesn't fit some prototype especially off the bench.

Eddie is no longer a veteran on a one year deal so he can be traded without his permission.

I am having my doubts about Grant Hill coming but age is not going to affect his ability to handle and distribute the basketball. He never defended the other team's PG, he is just capable of dribbling the ball and finding the open man which at times Eddie struggles with.

I have been following this team long enough to know that Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers do not value the traditional NBA PG very much, I happen to agree with that for the most part. When filling out the bench they are going to put more of an emphasis on the player than the position.

The league actually subsidizies contracts for playesr with a certain amount of service on vet min contracts, so that it goes a long way to offsetting the luxury tax implications.
