Was told C.J. Watson "is on the list" and "patience may work in this market." Perhaps waiting will result in some better deals, given the financial situation.

Asked where Miller will end up and was told it's unclear because he wants more than the MLE.

He deserves $6 Miller and not a penny more.

Nice post.

I think prior to the signing of Iggy and EB42, this has already been anticipated.

But the problem is that we had a very poor vision of this team at that point of time. I think Ed Stefanski envisioned a team that is ready for contention with our squad last season. I mean, even Donyell Marshall and Theo Ratliff even jumped to our bandwagon (LOL). But come the regular season, we looked very unprepared out there with Mo and his poor offensive sets and the lack of chemistry between EB42 and the rest of the team. And what made it worse, was EB42 has to sit for the majority of the season due to the injury.

Yes, right now we're in a terrible shape. It reminds me of the present Magic team that has become inflexible due to the contract that they gave to Rashard. But the big difference is that they got a franchise player like Dwight that his mere presence can lift their team into an elite status, and on our team we're still deciding on who to point our fingers at.

Thanks. I think you're right about Stefansky being surprised by Mo's inability to prepare the team for the season while integrating Brand into the line-up. At least he fired him before the season was totally ruined. I can only hope that Jordan is more successful but I'm still not happy that they haven't hired a defensive specialist as an assistant coach. In spite of it all, at least we should have some questions answered this season. These have been discussed for months and have to do with Lou Williams ability to be a staring PG, Iguodala's ability to play SG, Brand's health, and Young's upside. I guess there are more but those are the first that come to mind.

Pretty obvious that the Sixers are moving in another direction.

well they arent moving..they are sitting on their hands and annointing a guy who has never played PG....the starting PG...with a vet guy who has no business starting....brought in to share PG.

they are punting this year....for salary reasons.....there i said it..i feel better now.

say adios miller..forget the sign and trade..we will use the mle split 3 ways to get 3 solid..possible rotation guys..thats what i would do.

Just say bye bye to Miller and bring in Wafer with the hope that he can hit some trays at the 2 guard.

I agree unless Ed gets creative and signs a player or two to non-guaranteed contracts that could be used the following year in trade. The Stackhouse contract was quite useful this year for Dallas.

if Lou is the starting point till Jrue is ready then what happens with Lou when Jrue's time comes. Is it back to the bench or a trade the logic makes no sense.... Answer please anyone. Thanks.

At this point if we nabbed CJ Watson it would be almost as great as signing Lamar Odom or Hedo Turkoglu!

WIP's Gargano said that he had Lou on the show during a summer league (last year or year before, not sure which), and he advised Lou NOT to take a shot during the next game, and just focus on passing the ball. Lou wasn't having it, was more interested in being "little AI". Not the mentor he needs if he's going to be a PG in the league. It's the attitude that I don't like, and he will regret his lack of work ethic down the line. Jrue on the other hand is scouted to be one that's a gym rat, a worker. Maybe he'll learn something from Jrue after all.

I don't think Lou is little AI...if playing the point gets him in the starting 5, he'll adjust his game. It may be Jrue and Lou at the point, and then maybe Christmas and some other min vets. Amazing how the market for FAs has crashed this year...can anyone see Miler getting more than Bibby's deal?? They may end up with him coming back just because there is no market for him. If Portland lands Hinrich (nice move) then obviously he's not an option there, and I don't see other teams with an opening at the point either. It will be interesting to see who the final pieces are on this roster come opening night.

Ed needs to target some low risk / high reward guys that may fliorish in the Princeton O. Guys that may have been misused or their skillset was not right for their previous team.

I would like to see a Rodney Carney, Joey Graham or Matt Barnes on this team. A Mikki Moore or Jamal Magloire at the 5.

freshie,
I wasn't saying that he is AI, but that Gargano was saying that Lou was more interested in scoring like AI during the interview.

The market's crashed for Miller, not for the league. Amazing that Bibby, Hinrich, Kidd are all signed. No one was touching what Miller was asking for. You can't be between the 10th and 15th best player at your position and expect more than guys the league may rank ahead of you. That's the problem. He wanted a big payday, but the league doesn't value him as greatly as he and his agent do.

Dalembert stopped by Orlando on Thursday to support Speights and talked to the media. Was told he repeated a lot of his usual themes, saying trade talk is old news and that he was just frustrated the Sixers were losing and that his minutes weren't consistent. Said if they were winning you wouldn't have heard from him. He said he gets along with his teammates and doesn't know why it's out there that he doesn't.

Sounds like Dalembert plans on talking to Eddie Jordan while he's in Central Florida (Orlando Pro Summer League ends Friday).

Dalembert is dumb but he is also a decent center. I don't care if he stays or goes. If he stays great... we have depth for our bigs and we don't get killed inside. If he leaves... Fine.... Lets start over.

I can understand. You don't just demote a starter like that, especially if there isn't anyone better. Of course, the fact that we aren't a good defensive team without Daly enhances that fact.

This whole situation is Billy's fault. It's not Daly's fault for looking out for him and signing the best deal out there.
