Nice acquisition for you guys.

Solid guy on the court and in the locker room. Fits in well with the SA philosophy.

McDyess was my favorite Piston since Dumars. He gives everything he's got every time he steps on a court. He was our best player last year and only Prince was close. I'm happy for him and for Spurs fans that he's going to one of the few organizations that deserve him. Get him a ring guys!

Cheers Det fans. Detroit is easily my second fave team and I've always had a big respect for Dets game (Even more when they knocked off the lakers). Great team and classy fans. Let's go win Dice a ring!

Anotonio McDyess is absolutely beloved by the Pistons faithful. The man is a class act. He's one guy that never gave up. Never quit. He played his heart out every single time he stepped on the court. And you couldn't ask for a better teammate.

Obviously he doesn't have the explosiveness he did pre-knee injury, but the last couple years he's gotten up and down the court pretty damn well. He doesn't have great lateral quickness anymore, and he's not a great defender but he's willing to battle and he's great on the defensive glass. And of course that mid-range game is money.

You'll wanna limit his minutes during the regular season, but that's something Pop has always done a great job of doing with his guys.

It says something about the player that so many Piston fans openly rooted for him to sign with another team. Selfishly we'd all love to have him back, but the man has earned the right to go out a winner. Get him the ring he so richly deserves!

ps - I love the moves you guys have made - you're my early season favorites! Good luck.

I'm really happy we got this guy he's going to bring alot to our team. He's going to fit in perfectly with our core group of guys.

I love all the praise and support we're getting from Pistons fans, it really says alot about McDyess that so many fans of his former team want him to do well. Thanks guys.

There isn't much I can say that every other Piston fan hasn't already said.

McDyess is a way better signing than what you'd expect out of someone for the MLE. McDyess is flat out awesome. He has less mileage on him from sitting out three years, and he was a flat out beast for us last season, he's actually get better with age.

Great rebounder, easily the best 5th option in the league, he hustles, has heart, a great addition to the team. Whether you start him or have him come off the bench, come May and June, you'll be so glad to have this guy around. In the early months he might be slow, but watch out in the 2nd half of the season, guy is a monster. Pistons don't even get close to 39 wins last season without McDyess, without him we win like 27 games.

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.

Another Detroiter chiming in: I concur with everything said about Dice so far. Hard worker, gives 100% effort whether its november or may, always has a smile on his face, very humble, tough as nails, cash money on the 18ft. pick & pop. Solid defender as well. Should fit in just fine in SA.

If I had an army of Antonio McDyesses I could rule the universe. :)

Nice pick up!

He's the type of big man we needed - not the biggest (like Sheed or Varejao), but he still has enough size, and is more mobile than Oberto/Thomas. Definitely adequate offensively, smart player overall, brings significant intangibles.

So. Duncan, McDyess, Marcus Haislip, Ian Mahinmi and Dejuan Blair. Pretty interesting set of big men. Add in a center along the way and that's a very manageable frontcourt to contend in the West. Congrats on landing McDeezy.

Why has not McDyess signed with the Spurs yet? What's the hold-up?
