Posey back to Boston
According to some sources...the Hornets and C's have been in talks about a S&T of Big Baby to New Orleans for Posey...chances of it happening are really low right now though at just 20%...what do you guys think about it??

Unless, We get a pick back. No thanks.
Not sure why they want Baby though. Don't they already have David West?

This title is misleading. At first, I thought Posey to Boston was a done deal...until I opened the thread. Please change the title.

Posey would be great to have back, but the owners rejected his long contract last year. I don't see it happening for that reason.

Th more I think about it the more i want him back. If we are gonna match an offer on Baby, why not spend it instead on Posey? Can we SnT baby with Tony Allen or does he have to go alone I can't remember. It would be nice to get rid of Allen to save a bit.

Re: Posey back to Boston
misleading title..
i don't think the FO would do a direct s&t bbd for posey unless we had a pick coming back our way. much rather try to package tony and scal though.

They would really need to throw in something for us to even consider it.

Re: Posey back to Boston
That would be terrible, unless we are getting something more in return. Or maybe if we dump Scal at the same time.
Posey's contract is not a plus.

Salaries aside, having Posey back would be absolutely amazing! Here we are dreaming with Grant Hill, and we end up with Posey back!Ohh I like it...hopefully we get something more though...that contract is sour as ****..

Posey signed a bad deal. But from a basketball standpoint, hey it's tough to argue against Posey. Maybe get back Posey and Julian Wright..

With the cap going down, teams may be adjusting their budget strategies.. Posey's a better fit than Baby and they still have TA, Scals and House leftover to get someone else... Maybe they can work a way to get Antonio Daniels too.

Not bogus...there are no links...this came straight from a reliable source...who happens to be close to someone who used to work for the Hornets but is currently working for some other "unnamed" NBA team...anyways...there are no links sorry. And NO to you guys getting Wright. You can have Daniels however. Posey and Daniels for Big Baby in a S&T won't work however...that would mean this first year of Big Baby's deal would be 12+ million...NOT HAPPENING...lets stick to Pose for Baby!

OK, I'll bite. I guess what would it take to take this deal from here to close?

BBD for Posey straight up is totally bogus. Baby would be a BYC player, so we can only take back half his salary. There's no way that can work.
So much for your "reliable source" LOL. apparently frankie the safeway stock boy doesn't quite understand the CBA.

Re: Posey back to Boston
First of all: I recoginize I'm not a moderator.
Now.
1) Show a link or **** lock this right now
2) Put the words Rumour in the thread title. I **** died a little opening this thread and realizing it was just a misleading title.
3) This makes very little sense unless NO is willing to give Baby a contract bigger then Posey.
IF that is the case, then this is an amazing trade for the Celtics getting HUGE GREAT value out of situation where they don't have the financial tools to do anything about. Normally a trade would net a second round pick or minor cash.
4) POSEY's "bad" contract no longer matters for the Celtics.
Sheed just signed on for a 3rd year player option expecting to be his last contract before he retires. He'll stick around that last year for the 7-esque million he'll be owed. With money owed to him, a big amount to Rondo, Perk on his new contract, 21 mil to Garnett expiring. A recently re-signed Pierce. A new contract that is close to expiring on Ray Allen.... Posey will expire right along with them and on the same year as Sheed and KG... depending on Ray's new contract probably his as well. That should pretty much also be the same year that our window closes. There isn't going to be a lot of cap room that Posey would be teing up for a mysterious big free agent, and Baby isn't a big young asset that is critical to the future. I wouldn't be upset with having Posey expiring 3 years from now over Baby looking for another contract.
All the points are IMO and I realize I'm not a mod so I'm not ordering the OP to do as I think. I'm just giving my honest opinion as a poster to this thread.

You've nailed it. We'd be stand alone favorites in the East, but we'd really screw ourselves over financially.JHTruth wrote:Posey signed a bad deal. But from a basketball standpoint, hey it's tough to argue against Posey. Maybe get back Posey and Julian Wright..
