Pacers Sweep Orlando (Summer League)!
5 and OH baby. Hibbert surely locked up first-team honors. Hansbrough finally hit the boards hard. He's gotta be first-team as well. As a team, we put the hurt on the Magic defensively - held to 30% from the field. Price had a good showing - zero turnovers - I could see us offering him a contract.

Pacers' summer league stats:

You gotta look at the Per 48 numbers... Hibbert and Hansbrough were way better than anyone could've hoped. Hibbert did well avoiding fouls, but turned the ball over too much. The guards were a mixed bag. Nobody really jumps out as being offensively potent enough to warrant a roster spot - although Blalock is intriguing (better than 50% from the field and 5 steals per 48). I'm disappointed that Aaron Jackson didn't show more. Price did a good job taking care of the ball - but we already have Diener. But Price was somewhat disappointing overall - only 17 points and 6.7 assists Per 48... Only 1 steal in 5 games... yikes. Worst performance goes to Anthony Smith: 27% from the field, 21% from 3, 57% from the line, 1 steal in 5 games, 2 assists Per 48, 5.4 turnovers Per 48... where did we find this guy?!

So it's settled: we go 82-0 next year, and anything less is a disappointment!

Roy Hibbert named "Unofficial MVP" of Orlando Summer League, with just over 20 points and 9 board per game for the league champs:

Gives himself a B-
Still has some things to work on but I think he'll be solid this year.

In the offense that was ran for the majority of the games Price wasn't going to put up big offensive numbers. As a PG, when you're reduced to crossing halfcourt, passing the ball into the high post an then instructed to run to the corner 3 spot like the Pacers PGs did during alot of the Pacers offensive sets, I don't really know what can be expected as far as great offensive stats. Here is what O'Brien had to say about Price:
Though second-round pick A.J. Price didn't put up big numbers, he nevertheless made a strong impression on O'Brien with his solid, steady play at the point.
"A.J. Price played very well," O'Brien said. "I still think when all is said and done and people look back in a couple years, they're going to be shocked he was a late second-round draft pick.
"He looked as comfortable out on this basketball court as any point guard down here. He has a great feel for the game and scores it, sees the open man, consistently makes the right decisions. He's a strong player and has really terrific range."
Price averaged 8.2 points and a team-high 3.2 assists.

I'm going to be honest, Blaylock's play did not impress me. In terms of watching and seeing which guard did the best job of running the offense, none of them are better than our PG's right now. I think that they won't command any real minutes in the rotation, but I'd like to take one of them, especially if we're making moves to get rid of Ford (and JJ doesn't re-sign).

The double H's were definitely two of the best at Orlando. Its good to see both of them play well. Really the only 4 that played good were the guys we expect to be on the team anyway.
I wouldn't read too much into it though. Seems like last year Bayless had an awesome summer league and it didn't really translate when it came to the real deal.

Now we just have to get the coveted preseason title and we will be the undisputed best non-important games team in the NBA.
