Raptor Fan: Any Word on Jack

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Fri Jul 10, 2009 5:30 am

We are looking for a backup PG has Bird said anything he will match a full MLE deal? If we offered that would you guys match it or let him walk? What is Jack looking for contract wise i just think hes perfect fit and him and bosh are great friends which after everything might just swing his decision to sign the extension BC will offer once all the other moves are made. So whats your intentions with him, if we offered the FULL MLE, you would match it or no? Can he play the 2 guard well?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I think at this point, yes our front office would do what it takes to match Jack's offer...but that is definitely not a guarantee...see we are still very high on the concept that TJ Ford is a starting point guard in this league...he has shown glimpse of stardom and idiocy beyond belief....I think he gets a bad rap because of his "health" stature but look how J.O. turned out...We like Jack because he does the fundamentals we ask him too and he also steps up instead of chucking *usually* when the time comes...he would honestly be a fine steal for you guys...but we want him...sorry

Hes our next target
Once they have that golden shining moment and it comes to them in a dream or whatever and they understand that, that's when this team and this franchise will go to another level from where it was when I was here.

If you guys offered Jack the MLE, he's yours. Bird wouldn't match and be able to fill out the roster without hitting the tax, something we won't do this season.

Yes, he can play the 2 guard fairly well.

No, we won't match a full MLE, but if BC's smart, he won't offer a full MLE.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I hope they do offer him the full MLE. It makes things very simple for us-no decision to be made. Jack leaves Indy.

And secondly, that would be a bit of a dagger to Toronto, as that contract would come back to haunt them for some time.

He can play the 2 in stretches, but it's gotta be a favorable matchup.

Jack was Bosh's teammate at Georgia Tech and they are still good friends.
This is on top of his good fit into our roster.
Because having Bosh sign an extension is in the long term plan for Toronto, quite frankly Jack is worth more to us than he is to you.

Count or Scoot can you tell me what is the possibility of a us matching and S&T I'm thinking #1 pick and Roko. They have a trade exception don't they? 8-)

If he's signed to full MLE with 8 to 10% raises for 4 yrs they'll be sorry by yr 3. :o

None. You can't combine trade exceptions...they'll be over the cap, and Jack will be a BYC, so we can only take back 50% of his salary.

(Also, in order to do a sign & trade, Jack, Tor & Indy would have to agree to rescinding the offer sheet, and it would have to start over with us signing Jack.)
