Justin Reed

I am not sure what is happening to him. Wasn't he the same guy that got Kobe locked up a few years ago He would be our great 15th player. I think we can get him almost free.

There is a reason that you're not sure what happened to him, and it's because he didn't make it in the NBA. Maybe Europe?

edit: after drug charges dropped in 2007 he left Houston. Playing NBDL/Bakersfield as of January 2009.

Justin, Kedrick, and a host of other 'Kobe-Stoppers' are still trying to make their way back.

cool, pretty sure i inspired this thread. as for reed, 2 years ago he was great in the d-league playing first for the austin toros, then the bakersfield jam. he was invited to the sixers training camp last summer but he broke his foot first day. he ended up returning halfway through the season last year in bakersfield but he wasn't nearly as explosive as before and his shot was off. i think this is the year he has to prove himself in the d-league again, then maybe at some point he'll get called up. would love to see him back in a cewltics uniform, he has the heart and intensity to be playing alongside kg. his on ball defense is one of the best.

I wonder what kedrick brown is up to these days?
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

Both Reed and Kendrick Brown played in the NBDL last season. There are a lot better options out there. What's Bonzi Wells up to?

This is probably why we don't want him.

"Will work for food" is usually a good indicator that a guy is not NBA calliber

I used to call him Justincredible, but really he was justnotthatgood. The Bonz hasn't been seen in sometime. He vanished like a ninja. Reminded me of a poorman/bum version of Paul Pierce. I don't think we are that desperate yet to sign him though.

I was wondering when Justin Reed's name would pop up on this board, because I have been thinking about him for a while now. As others have noted, he was last seen trying to get his game together in the NBDL, and trying to overcome his injury. If Reed is able to regain his pre-injury form, I think he would be a great fit for us. He's a defensive hawk, who also happens to be solidly built and 6' 8". There's a certain player that plies his trade on the shores of Lake Erie that Reed would match up well against, if we were to meet them in the playoffs. Another plus is Reed's familiarity with the system. Throw in the fact that he's also an unassuming personality, that plays with a workmanlike attitude, and I think he would be great on this team. His mid-range jumpshot was always decent, so he won't be a liability on the offensive end, and defensively, he's exactly what we need. A big, mobile body to throw at the likes of Lebron, or maybe Rashard Lewis in the playoffs.

I think the only reason he was getting minutes with us is because we were trying to sell him. You don't point out the prized turkey(Gomes) you want to have for yourself. You show people the one that tastes like sh*t and act like you love the shade of green that its turning.
