Series Thread: Jays @ Orioles, July 10-12

Post#1 » by Mustard_Tiger » Fri Jul 10, 2009 8:39 pm

If anybody cares anymore, the Jays play a series this weekend in Baltimore.

I'm not exactly sure who is pitching for the Orioles this series and I'm too lazy to check (probably some combination of Bergesen, Guthrie, Hill, and Berken). The Jays have 3 left-handed rookies going (Cecil, Romero, Rzepczynski).

You can talk about the games in this thread, I guess. Or if the games seem trivial to you, there are always more depressing Halladay trade rumours to discuss.

How depressing. This team was nails even only 2 weeks ago. Sh*ts been going downhill ever since. Whatever, Go Jays.

Again with the 'I think it, you post a more extreme it'. I'm really happy with this set up we've got going.

i haven't had that much time to follow them as much anymore, and it seems like it was a good time to miss games...

but man, what a big let down this team has been! Poor Roy Halladay......

Didn't get a chance to catch the game tonight but it looks like one that wasn't too exciting. Hopefully we can sweep the Os and get on a roll after the break.

Too bad Rolen's streak is over, but it was a decent start from Cecil.

I found myself bored on a Friday night so I watched the game.

No one did particularly great; Cecil's overall numbers look pretty good, but he was in and out of jams. Being a Maryland native, it was nice to see him get the win with his family in attendance. It was also nice to see Jesse Carlson finally have a good outing.

I have Matt Wieters on a few fantasy teams, so blah @ him going hitless.

Meh, boring game, but atleast the Jays got the win... booo @ Rolen not extending his hit streak.
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

I have a feeling that Cecil's problems were mainly confidence-related, so it's good to see him have a good start.

Interesting that the Jays can win close games against the teams that are below them in the standings.

I caught the last couple of innings at the bar last night. Downs looked good getting the save.

Hopefully the team will get some wins and get a winning record again.

Ok, now I like Millar. Jobbing his former team out of a baserunner by chatting him up is awesome.

I also like how the Sportsnet cam crew kept panning over to Mora's salty expressions on the bench afterwards.

That was an insanely dangerous play by Lind...if he was tagged before Scutaro scores, I'd be furious. It paid off, but unless Vernon knocks him in (ain't happening), it's too big of a risk.

If Cito sends League out for a second inning, the game is over.
