would Indiana match that, considering they have about 8 guards.
Ford, diener, (tinsley), price, rush, (dunleavy), dhantay jones.
best guess for me is 4 yr 22 mil with maximum salary first year(5.9) and decreasing from there.
Um, Toronto can pretty much just offer the full MLE in the first year of the deal. It must be spread out over the full guaranteed portion of the contract. When using the MLE, that means the salary must be reduced so that the 1st year is not larger than the actual MLE. So, the Pacers would have to pay out cash in the 1st year, but it wouldn't affect the number against the salary cap or luxury tax, which is the biggest issue for Indy.
As for matching, Tinsley is never playing in Indy, so you can remove him from the rotation. Dunleavy is out until January, at the least. Price is a long-term developmental PG. Diener is a 3rd PG type emergency PG. That leaves Ford at PG, Rush at SG, and Jones backing up the SG/SF spot. There's plenty of room for Jack, especially since there's no guarantee that Price will make the roster.
However, if it's the full MLE, I can't see Indy matching that. That's just too much money for Jack. However, if it's only the first year is the full MLE, and it's decreasing after that, that's a different story.
I assume that Toronto offers the full MLE with maximum raises, and at that point, I say that Toronto is crazy for tying up so much of their cap on Jarrett Jack, especially when Bosh could leave them with nothing.
