Jack's loss has much larger consequences for this team than a "ay whatever" type feeling.

Jack's probably gone so get over it...you have to realize he's a backup on any playoff team's roster. Gotta move on bro!

I'm pretty pissed. At least match of give him 4 years 22 MIL. He's an important piece to rebuilding this team as our off the bench combo guard. His versatility and nack for making big plays will be missed.

Damn it we sign Dahntay Jones to lose Jarrett Jack? For real I'm pissed.

No, that's not how it worked out.

Jack can be a starter. If you think he's a backup then you didn't watch him play. He may have came off the bench but solely for the team/matchup purposes. His play is not of a backup but a starter. Not saying he's a top of the line starter, but he's a starter.

Jack's GW in New York is one of my fav's.

I think this would be an easy decision (MATCH!) except that we just allotted half the money that would go to Jack to Dahntay Jones instead. If we let Jack go, this whole 'plan' blows.

JACK OFFER UNLIKELY TO BE MATCHED

Indiana officials on Saturday night were waiting to formally get the offer sheet Pacers restricted free-agent guard Jarrett Jack signed with Toronto. But they were preparing for the likelihood of not matching an offer reportedly worth $20 million over four years.

"If it's more than $4 million (average per season), I would think we wouldn't match it," said a Pacers source who was speaking when the source knew the deal was for four years but didn't yet know the total amount.

CBSSports.com first reported Jack's offer sheet, but did not report how much it is worth. ESPN.com later reported it worth $20 million.

If the Pacers don't match during the allotted seven days, the Raptors likely would get a backup behind starting point guard Jose Calderon after Anthony Parker bolted to Cleveland as a free agent.

Jarrett had a great season here and he quickly became one of my favorite players because of his toughness, leadership and professionalism. I hope he has a great career in Toronto.

My thoughts exactly. Jarrett became one of my favorite players on the roster last season and I hate to see him go, but I don't blame him for cashing in on his hard work and I wish him the best (except when we play Toronto).

No sense is crying and whining over it. If he's gone, he's gone. Nothing to do at that point but move forward and find his replacement. If we can get Sessions (doubtful), it would be an upgrade over Jack and would give us our PG of the future. The kid has skills.

You gotta think there is a lot of confusing in the Pacers HQ right now, i mean, with Reggie Miller saying we needed to get rid of one point guard and get a new one, with so many people thinking we'd draft a point guard and few available, and then the whole TJ Ford trade rumors, to Danny Granger praising Jarrett Jack..... and us losing Jack for nothing. Seems like a waste. As good of a plan Bird and JOB had, we're finally seeing a few cracks. Hopefully Bird has something up his sleeve. If not, this sets us back a bit.

What will we do for 2011 season? No point guard worth of a mid-to-high pick next year (besides Wall who will be top 3) and Ford will be gone. No reason to give him a long term contract.

I'm kinda hoping for Willie Warren next year. Still, Jack is supposed to be our long term back-up PG - a position that's been impossible for us to satisfactorily fill. If we lose him, instead we'd have wasted good money on apparently one of the least efficient wings in the league.

I bet we are trying to move TJ this week so we can re-sign Jack--or else make some kind of big PG move. I just don't see how we can match it, too much $$$. We can't get a trade exception from Toronto b/c they are over the cap now, right? And there really isn't any1 on their team that would help us in a sign-and-trade, unless we can do a crazy 4-team deal like they already managed to do.

We need to talk to the Jazz. Do Murphy and fillers wherever needed for Boozer. Then we get a trade exception somewhere and trade that to the Jazz for some1 they dump to save money and then we get the Knicks pick, too. So Murphy and whoever for Boozer, some1, and the Knicks #1 is what it comes down to! We would add a lot of money, but we would get a good player in Boozer and the Knicks pick, which could be really high. Do it Utah! You have to do it so then you can re-sign Millsap! Stupid them giving Okur a 2-year extension. That would have to be a 3-way deal, too. Or we can just do the TE for the #1 pick and a salary dump to save them $. Then they can have Millsap, Okur, and Boozer (for now) and not be in a rush to move Boozer for a lot less than his full value. We are so nice, and then we would have 1 awesome pick in the draft and then the 30th (cause the Pacers will win it all, of course!)

Crap, I forgot it was an offer sheet so we can't sign-and-trade Jack. I was thinking of the time from the 1st-7th where nothing is official until the 8th and you can pull crazy moves in that time.
