Earl Clark is not a good defender.
Pekovic wont come over to be a back-up. That is the concern.

Having a player like Love as a sixth man isn't the formula for long-term success. The fact that there are still questions around whether or not the team's two best players can co-exist is troublesome. We should have a definitive answer in less a year.

Re: Twolves' Long Term Frontcourt Plan
Who starts and who doesn't is a matter for the coach. Whether Love starts or not, he is a member of the 8-9 man rotation the Wolves will move forward with. There does need to be another big, and based on what the Wolves lack it would be nice if he was a 7'0+ defensive minded "true" center.
Other than Al and Kevin, Wolves don't have any players on the roster currently that can be put into that 8-9 man rotation. Hopefully Flynn. Hopefully Rubio. Hopefully Brewer. But not certainly.

The Wolves focus in the draft from now on should be athletes with size and shooters.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I'm not sure I understand what your saying? Why isn't having two bigs better than Love a formula for long term success?

If he comes, awesome bonus, if he doesn't, well, I wouldn't be shocked. The one interview I've heard from him, he flat out said the NBA wasn't even in his mind at this time.
Earl Clark would have been an awesome SF for us to pick up in the draft. In my mind, he fits exactly what we need to put next to a Jefferson/Love front court. 6'10"+, range, athletic, blocks shots...
If we can find someone like that, and then a Joel Przybilla type, while improving our perimeter defense, then I think we're golden.
I would put that type of player in the starting linuep with Jefferson and have Love come off the bench for either player.
If we drafted Cole Adlrich next year, I'd love for him to be our starting 5 with Jefferson at the 4, and Love coming off the bench. Jefferson gets his 36 mpg, leaving 30 a piece for Cole and Kevlar.

I think Ellington could be an 8 or 9 man. He does need to add some strength, though.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

If Aldrich has a decent year he probably is a top 6 pick.
I'd think Minny needs to move Brewer to SG and get a QUICK SF.

I think we need to find out if he's a viable rotation player before we start worrying about the letter after S in his position listing should be F or G.

"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."
