tbhawksfan wrote:So far Sund has done a very nice job; Teague was a solid pick, Craw a steal. The Crawford deal was one of those deals everyone talks about; the one that moves them up the food chain.

Also signed Bibs very reasonably and got a pretty good deal on Zaza. MW will likely sign long-term in a declining market (cap going down hard next season). I'd love to get him into a 4@$30M kinda deal.

Very nive off-season. Only problem is, Hawks need two of those defining type moves (Craw). We were a solid fourth seed last season and have already done enough to hope to at least remain there. Can we move up to third or second......

Gotta get something for Chils. If at the least he could be S&T for a solid oung back up with a reasonable contract, or a quality expiring vet or even a decent pick and an expiring, we'd be looking great. Of course, he wants to come back, love to have him.

Bring in Andersen. He'll contribute and he's cheap. A solid back up PF / C at about $3M.

Either bring Chil in or trade him for someone. He should be able to bring in a number eight or nine in a deep rotation.

Horf / Zaza
Smoove / Andersen
MW / Mo
JJ / Craw
Bibs / Teague

Too little too late but those are by far the worst nicknames ever.

... just because you are holding an ace doesn't mean you will hit the flop.

Teams that will be better :

Wizards: They should be in the top 6 of the EC.
Raptors: Turkoglu makes them better, so does J. Jack. They will fight for the last playoff positions.
Bulls: Deng must be healthy.
Pacers: They might have a shot at the last 2 seeds. Granger is terrific.
Bobcats: This team is a trade away from being good. Get a true PG and they will experience a similar effect Bibby had on the Hawks.

Teams that will be worse :

Nets: D-league level, they'll still beat us though lol.
Heat: (that team is attrocious)
Sixers: ( Miller is under appreciated, they'll miss him)
Pistons: So, you play defense, reaches the ECF for like 5 years in a row, what do you do next? Trade your leader for a ball hog and get two streaky shooters who are clueless about how to defend. Way to go down the hill Dumars.
Magic: Turkoglu isn't great, but he was almost perfect with them. They lost their most creative and crunch player. I can't stand VC. To me, he's a loser, I have no respect for him since his days with the Raptors.

Teams that are a mess:

Knicks: King James is the only one who can save this franchise, don't you think the NBA would be way more interesting with a Knicks x Celtics or Knicks X Lakers rivalry ? I do.

Teams I'm not really sure about:

Celtics: R. Wallace makes them better, but they're old and predictable. I doubt they can win it all again.

Cavs: I really didn't want to have O'Neal on my team. To me, it's a bad move. They should be able to at least have fun taking pictures before the games and wath the finals at home once again. Welcome to NY King James.

Hawks: I like the addition of Crawford now that Bibby is staying. But for another off-season, we'll fail to address our biggest issues, rebounding and interior defense. I think if we reach the 2nd round and actually compete, this will be a good season.
GO HAWKS.

^^^ Good overall assessment. I want VC to disrupt the Magic, but I can't critique him based on how much he's slapped around the Hawks over the years.

If a Chils trade is gonna bring in a Gadz type player; who is the second big (Woodson on Buck and Kincaade said we're bringing in two bigs) we sign gonna be?

Zaza is better than Gadz; is the other guy gonna be better than Zaza?
