Re: 2009-10 PHX Suns starting lineup
Puns aside,
I am curious about Robert Swift. He was a gangly teen ager when he jumped into the league. A few injuries and teams later, he is looking for a job. The Sonics fans were stoked about him at one point, when he gained 25+ lbs of muscle one off season (or was it ink?) and was beasting.... then pulled up lame.
I'd rather have a youngster like him than an old crusty like Ratliff. At least he might develop into something, rather than retire. Much like Amundson has.
Any others out there ?

Patrick O'Bryant, Saer Sene, Johan Petro, Shelden Williams all fit the "young busts who could still develop" category.
Oberto, Dikembe, Drew Gooden, Mel Ely, SEAN MARKS!, Rasho, Hermann, Wright are some vet bigs we could sign.

Hollins - whoever mentioned him. Runs the floor really well, great athlete and has some nastiness with his dunking/blocking and good offensive rebounder

Isn't Dikembe done? I thought he after his injury he said he was done with hooping.
Oberto is nice, he played a nice role next to TD in SAN. Gooden and Rasho could be interesting too.

Re: 2009-10 PHX Suns starting lineup
I still think we need some kind of vet PG added, Dragic is still not that experienced and we are seriously screwed if Nash goes down with injury (knock on wood) for example.
Here is a nice list of UFA's
# Andre Miller
# Stephon Marbury
# Jason Hart
# Brevin Knight
# Smush Parker
# Ronald Murray
# Marcus Williams
# Jacque Vaughn
# Lindsey Hunter
# Anthony Carter
# Kevin Ollie
# Quincy Douby
# Mike Wilks
# Tyronn Lue
I think Carter or Hunter would be nice additions who could come on the cheap. Always been a fan of Flip Murray, but he is redundant with the other guards we have. I'd also take a fly at Marcus WIlliams for the min as well.

Isn't Flip a scorer? He was like the Hawks 3rd scorer or something last season.
I'd be OK with Carter, Hunter and Williams. Starbury and Miller would probably be too expensive.

Re: 2009-10 PHX Suns starting lineup
Hi Guys, my name is Robert Sarver and I have 1 thing to say:
I will NOT, I repeat, NOT, spend a dime on another free agent.
We already have 12 guys on the roster - pending Wallace and Pavlovic buyout/waive - and thus gives us one final slot for the 13th man.
If it wasn't for the NBA rules, I'd go with 12 guys. But the league requires me to sign somebody and thus I'm gonna sign the cheapest thing available: Taylor Griffin for $400,000.
Live with it. Deal with it. We already have 5 bigs (Frye, Amare, Lopez, Lou, Clark) and don't need anything else.
Goodbye.

Re: 2009-10 PHX Suns starting lineup
Unfortunately not, but I do hope the Suns realize that they've got a steal at 14 and aren't going to rack up DNP-CD's for him all season long. 10-15 mpg would be a good learning experience for him. I hope to see him during Phoenix's second SL game.
