Cavs 1st Summer Leage Game Wrapup

Post#1 » by Wisedude42 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 6:51 pm

Danny Green showed he can help right away because he makes open shots, 3-pointers and can defend very well. Awesome 2nd round pick.

C. Eyenga flashes great athleticism and was not being passed the ball to. I need to see more from him in the next 4 games to have a better opinion. He still needs 2 more years in Europe but after that he could be an outstanding player.

Jawad Williams played well and shot the ball well. He could be more assertive.

Leo Lyons played very well and certainly opened my eyes. He's a combo forward. Need to see how he performs the next 4 games. There is talent there and a fairly strong body.

Jamont Gordon played point guard and has really improved. I need to see how how plays the next 4 games but he is showing NBA ability. So far I like very much what I see.

Darnell Jackson was very subpar. Let's see if he picks it up or is able to.

Tarence Kinsey showed he cannot hit an outside shot. Maybe it was just one game so lets see what happens the next 4 games.

Mo Rice needs to show alot more. Forget David Harrison, very disappointing. Robert Hite is a late addition so didn't see that much in game 1 so will wait on the next 4 games to know.

I think Green has a chance to be last years Courtney Lee along with Dejuan Summers. I think Eyenga is a LONG way off from contributing if ever. I am more of a fan of drafting players that have shown they can either dominate bad competition or play well against good competition. Maybe Eyenga is in that 5% that turns into a decent NBA player. It should be interesting to see how (or if) he develops.

I think Green will be solid for us. Didnt like the Eyenga pick and he sucked in the first game. Why isnt Hickson playing?

Should probably give Eyenga a bit of a break. I mean first offical game on United States soil right?

Lets see how they fare in the late game tonight vs Bucks.

He's still rehabbing his back. He's in Vegas to workout and run drills, but won't be playing at all.

It must be said again...the Cavs should have selected someone NBA ready like DaJuan Summers.

You technically have to buy them from the NBA summer league site but they are broadcast for free on Justin.tv, search for NBA Las Vegas Summer League.

Danny Green is the only guy on the team that looks like an NBA player.

That's ok, he's the only one we have a roster spot for anyway, lol.
Eyenga was drafted specifically to avoid a guarenteed contract on the books in 2010 so he stays in Europe, and if we sign out 'stretch forward' Darnell Jackson may be out of a job.
