How exactly does this help the Jazz save money?

Why not just do Boozer for Tyrus Thomas/James?

With Chicago, that would be the trade. I really won't use Fesenko in any trade (do people realize this kid put a per 48 stat of 11+pts, 14+reb, 4+blocks playing an average 7 minutes in 20 games?)

The other "trade noise" with any degree of credibility should be the Miami one, with the Heat most pobably offering Haslem or Blount and probably Quinn/Wright.

James and Tyrus for Boozer and Fesenko saves you all 2.1mil which still might be enough but might be if you can trade Korver saving some money

What is the deal with Kofus. If u all don't value him too much a Boozer,Kofus,Frensko for Tyrus,JJ and Linto saves u all over 3 mil which is what you all could use. I don't know the story on Kofus but that deal helps and still gives you Korver, Miles contract to save some money. 6-7 mil is pretty much what you all need to save right? So 3 mil in Boozer deal and another 3 mil in deals after that

Koufos and Fesenko are players with a rare combination of size, athleticism, youth, huge upside, firendly contracts... I don't think the Jazz would trade them for financial purposes.
James ot Tim Thomas contracts can much more easily be traded away later for cash, picks, considerations to any team willing to gain money space for next summer free agency.

boozer only played 2 out of 4 years he was in utah, and played 40 percent of last year. So you have to take in consideration the RISK FACTOR. Do the Bulls want to take a risk on Him? And break up the nucleus? OR shoudl they wait a year when he becomes a free agent and get him when they don't have to give up any pieces?

If they do do a trade. Tyrus and a 2010 First Rounder?

How about Salmons, Jerome James, Bulls # 1, Phoenix # 1 (currently owned by OKC), for Boozer and Korver. Bulls get OKC's pick by trading them Tyrus Thomas.

You guys save $4.7 million in cap, plus you get two picks (that could be sold or used), plus an upgrade at SF.

I think work is Reindsorf is offering Tyrus and Tim Thomas for Boozer actually. Hey, it's not a bad deal. Personally I don't think it's going to happen.

The Bulls would be happy to give you Tyrus in the deal. The problem is that we are going to have to entice OKC or Memphis to spend money and provide cap space. All the money in the deal has to go to you guys, so I think that the Bulls are going to have to induce participation by selling them Tyrus Thomas for a draft pick. That is the only way to create cap space for you guys since the Bulls will not go over the lux tax threshhold. The deal as proposed keeps the Bulls under the tax.

But I disagree with Kosta. This guy could be a starter in this league, but his rookie stint almost proved he can contribute off the bench.

Why should the Bulls get Boozer and only have to give up Thomas and a bunch of crap? Doesn't seem fair to me. Giving up Hinrick and Thomas puts things still in their favor, but I would be willing to do it. The Bulls would be one of the best teams in basketball if they did that trade. (Even though they were stupid to let Gordon leave.)

James' contract is covered by insurance, so we save more like 8 million (I think we pay 1.7 or something like that on his contract instead of the full value).

Insurance might pick up some of the tab but they don't pick up the luxury tax hit.
