Vasher out for awhile

Post#1 » by dougthonus » Wed Sep 26, 2007 5:37 pm

I heard on ESPN Radio on Waddle & Silvy that Vasher is out for a month, and I think they said Tillman is out this week as well.

They said the Bears were down 5 of their initial starting 11 defensive players. I'm assuming that's Dusty, Brown, Tillman, Vasher, and Harris (though I'm not certain).

There's a chance Briggs / Ogunleye may be out too. Man that's just brutal.

This only makes the Lions look that much better. I don't care if all 11 starters are out, I don't want any team with a chance to say they did well against the Bear defense.

Brutal indeed! A change in our inept offense can only help us, at least one would hope. We have to win the time of possession in order to have a shot at winning games.

We're left with Manning, Manning, Archuleta, and McGowan in our secondary, fine at LB unless Briggs misses time, and Anderson, Brown, Walker, and Adams on the defensive line.

So our starting defense went from:
Ogunleye, T. Harris, Dusty, Mark Anderson, Briggs, Urlacher, Hillenmeyer, Vasher, peanut, Mike B., and Archuleta

to

A. Brown, Darwin, Garay, Anderson, Jamar Williams, Urlacher, Hillenmeyer, Ricky M, Manning, Mcgowan, injured Archuleta

^
Is that even a top 25 defense?

Tell you what, it's better than the Lions defense. (Or it needs to be >_<)

I can't hope to wonder if the aggressive defensive style Babich has put in cause these injuries or maybe bad luck(hangover curse?) who knows.

Who's the 2nd CB?

Danieal Manning & Ricky Manning Jr ?

Who's the nickle? McBride? We're going to get torched.

Our secondary is (if Adam can't play which I doubt you can play with a broken hand. That's just me)

Ricky Manning Jr, Corey Graham/Mcbride(not sure which one is better.) Brandon Mcgowan, and Danieal Manning.

YAY. Our nickel would probably be the veteran Jimoh who we signed for Special teams....and our other safety would be Kevin Payne.
